So 1st, that points ratio is totally normal.

2nd, he scored those 50 points getting 15 minutes a game with Beleksey and Hayes as his primary wingers. He has been playing with Krejci and Backes this preseason and it wouldn't shock me for a second if he led the team in scoring. Spooner was one of the top 10 primary assist guys in hockey and is going to benefit a lot from playing with other skilled players.

i hEAR ya.. but he did get 17 points on the PP and my question is if a team trades for him.. a team like anaheim, and they dont have much space on their top 6 would his not getting much power play time lower his value for the team trading for him. I mean.. Desharnais once scored 60 points of which 16 were on the PP... doesnt make him a top 6 player in any way.

( not that im comparing the two)

Not unless it's something like this.

Anaheim Ducks- Ryan Spooner+Bostons 2017 2nd round pick
Boston Bruins- Cam Fowler

Winnipeg Jets- Cam Fowler+Prosepct/Pick
Boston Bruins- Jacob Trouba.

Something like a deal based around what i proposed or Krug would need to go the other way for Trouba. Only way i see it getting done here.

Adding a prospect or pick to fowler doesn't make fowler any more interesting.......unless that prospect is one hell of a good prospect. Pass

Ive been thinking about the team needs etc and figured what better way to make everyone happy then to just throw in a three way to get everyone's heart racing.

so here it is.

To Bos

Jacob Trouba

To Win

Cam Fowler

To Ana

Jake Debrusk

hard to believe this was serious post... but the overall idea is solid with winnipeg wanting a lf shot dman willing to play for them and anaheim wanting cap relief

unfortunate boston cant afford trouba without shedding some contract

throw k miller into the deal to winnipeg ( they can flip him if they want)

and give anaheim c miller or morrow and a second rounder... they can minor league miller or morrow

it might still be tough to sign trouba

What? Spooner is exactly what Anaheim is actually looking for, a young versatile top6 guy.

If a team is trading to get Spooner and does not provide powerplay time then that team is nuts. May as well go for a penalty killer/grinder. Spooner has put up solid numbers in a defensive system playing on a line with duds last year. He is a very good complimentary player and for sure can play anywhere in the top 6. Not a top tier guy thats why you throw in a pick or prospect.

Its really not that bad.

Spooner for Fowler is in the ballpark of fair value, maybe a small add from Boston.

WPG getting essentially two mid-late 1sts and a 2nd isn't terrible value for Trouba. They want a LH shot d man though.

Seriously doubt that Boston would get both Fowler and Trouba, Could they afford both doubt it.

Winnipeg has zero use for Spooner, And isn't McQuaid a RHD not LHD that Cheveldayoff is seeking so that deal doesn't make any sense.

And i'm pretty sure that Anaheim would rather have Spooner over DeBrusk any day of the year. Don't see Anaheim or Winnipeg doing these deals. Obviously Boston is the clear winner here.

That deal is bad since the Ducks aren't getting what they need and neither are the Jets. Ducks need Spooner, Jets could use DeBrusk. No interest in Hayes from a Ducks POV.
