Laine looked to be very tired in contrast to KFC especially.
Who knows maybe just not feeling well or
simply an off day doesn’t matter.
This game was fun as we were always in it score wise but we weren’t really in it.
Can somebody tell me why we don’t know how or when to make a clean line change?
The line changes have been driving me nuts!

I'd love to see this lineup down the stretch:

JoMo Buff
Kuli Pionk
Niku Poolman

KFC Chef Laine
Ehlers Copp Wheels
Frenchy Little Roslo
Harkins Lowry Apples
Niku has just been awful in the NHL though. He's weak on D in the AHL, so its not a surprise. Beaulieu and Sbisa are way better defenders than him.

One of the only PP's we got was from the Bruins having too many men on the ice too . It definitely seems to be happening more that's for sure . Guys need to hustle back to the bench , i hate when they just coast back .

No, they are not.

They are both horrible, Bitetto is just as bad. They are not NHL players in any facet of their games. Maybe Beaulieu is a 7th defensemen.

Niku has not been a good NHL player so far, granted. He has also been played with a mismash of junk for the most part and only in small samples, he has never been given a chance to play with a good partner for a solid stretch of time. He has also only played on teams that have absolutely horrid advanced stats so he has not been able to drag them up (admittedly he has made them worse though). To continue to play junk like Dahlstrom/Bitetto/Sbisa/Beaulieu over him, when we know they are trash and not helping us win games, instead of giving him a chance to learn on the job and get better, because he has that potential, is some of the worst logic I have seen a NHL coach use.

Quick thoughts...
81-55-29 Connor with a great game, torturing the Bruins for passing on him 3 times in the draft. Scheifele was good, too. Laine just looked like he had no legs.

27-26-9 Not a great game. Copp was better. Ehlers was peripheral. Wheeler want at the top of his game. Fatigue was an issue.

85-17-28 You'd think giving Lowry a couple of quick and talented wingers would work better, but Perreault was incredibly bad again. He deserved being relegated to the 4th line. Bourque isn't much better, but he was at least trying.

57-21-82 Nice game from Appleton. Shore was okay. Bourque is just a filler type.

44-3 This pairing just has to be better. They had bad positioning and spacing. They can both be good, but maybe just need different partners. I would try Pionk with Morrissey and Poolman with Kulikov.

5-4 Sbisa is just awful. Pionk was again called on to salvage this pair.

2-7 Kulikov was okay. He adds a bit of aggressiveness. Bitetto just isn't good enough.

Brossoit was mediocre. He had a lot of shots, but also didn't seem sharp.
Agree with most of this. Poolman was clearly dragging Morrissey down - again! Sometimes Poolman looks great, but other times he's just overwhelmed.
I think it's time we keep Harkins in the line-up, and even put him with Lowry.
Scheifele has put this team on this back the past several games... can't complain about him. Connor, other than a bad game here and there, has been magnificent as well. Really, including Laine, I can't complain about our top two lines at all (except for Roso, but Maurice corrected that blip).
Expected more from Brossoit this season. He's a shadow of the player we were teased with last season.

Not to mention, in one of his two games he literally got zero offensive zone starts. I don’t want to say it’s an intentional screw job by Maurice but how does that even happen?

Niku is largely an example of square peg, round hole coaching. He hasn’t proven anything at the NHL level but he really has never been given that much of an extended run, with a suitable partner to develop as much as he likely could.

Pionk was described as possibly the worst defenseman in the league when coming here. Possibly, just possibly Niku might find some success if put in a position where his tools can help the team, as opposed to being asked to play a certain way.
With the stiffs we ice on a nightly basis, it baffles me why playing him isn’t in everyone’s best interest. It’s really about Maurice and his preferences. The Jets might be right about him, but he need more rope on a regular basis for them to really be sure.

Sbisa is not very good and he is showing this in larger sample. Beaulieu is a 6-7. Give Niku a run of 20 games to see what he can do. He played good in Toronto. I guarantee that if Niku killed penalties none of those guys would be in the lineup ahead of him as he is a better player. Just go see the stats on these replacement level Ds.

Expected goals is Boston 4 Winnipeg 1? Gee, this stat seems very well designed at predicting actual results. o_O

Read from it what you want, but I'll take whatever it says over whatever you're saying.

Quit moaning about Patty's lack of offence! Can someone instead show me a clip of KC with his head up when enter the ozone in position of the puck from this last roadtrip? Straight line to the net or down low without of any thought of a drop pass or looking for someone open on the far post...

Time to pitch a combo deal featuring Roslo, Niku and Vesalainen for a top 4 d-man or top six winger..

Might be exposing my age a bit here, but she was one of my first crushes when she was on Survivor.

Bad luck is who she is .

I vaguely recall her now. The only thing that stuck with me about that first series was Naked Guy winning it.

I probably had a crush on her at the time, too. Good for her for taking her 15 minutes of fame and then going back to living a normal life. Although I wouldn't have complained had she gone the Jenna Lewis route, too. :naughty:

Small sample size, Jets 31. Let's not be hasty in our judgment.

Here’s some trivia: What player had 35+45=80 pts as a 21 year old in this league?

hint 1: he played in one of the absolute elite lines in the league

hint 2: his name reminds of pasta

That is btw roughly the output that we might expect from Laine this season.
But the way we hype Laine up around here he’s supposed to be generational. Pasternak is a superstar not generational. Laine is nowhere close to Matthews who he was compared to when entering league. Ppl expressed they weren’t sure who TO would even take.

are you unhappy with how he's played this season?
