I know its highly unlikely he gets traded, but what is his value? Would love to have him on Ottawa as we have a hole in the top 6 LW spot - was interested in Hartnell too but I read he will not waive anymore.

Would need to be part of a package that returns a center who is a good bit better than Dubinsky.

The only players who aren't going anywhere are Jones, Jenner, and Werenski. Take your pick at anyone else

I could see a fit centerred around Jenner and Brassard/Turris/Brown/White

Yeah I was kind of thinking about a package around one of White/Lazar.

Completely understandable that CBJ would see Jenner as untouchable, I thought maybe if they had a poor season they would move core bodies out but Jenner is very young and on a good contract for a couple years so it doesn't really make sense.

The Jackets do seem to have a ton of solid wingers though, like I said Hartnell would be a good fit but his NMC is in the way of a trade. Foligno and Atkinson would be good as well, Saad being a dream lol

Lazar doesn't approach Jenner in terms of value. White doesn't really either, but maybe? Seems really unlikely.

If Ottawa wants Jenner they'd have to give up one of Turris or Brown.

The Jackets don't need more futures. They need a center now. Or if this season is lost they need someone who can play top 6 C at the beginning of next year.

Jenner himself is a center option - and he's not ideal for it because he's a goal guy not a distributor - but he is our fallback right now. So the Sens need to give us someone who is at least better than that.

There's only one option, and that's Jenner++ for Turris.

Uh you forgot Saad. And Murray. And the guy in your name.

Wennberg >> Jenner.

That wasn't true until fairly recently, as Wennberg was a very green player, but it's showing now and I think it's going to be clear from now on that Wennberg is a better overall player.

Henrique or Zacha. That's how badly the Jackets need Wennberg at the moment, only would trade him for an upgrade.

Uh, please stop. Those aren't upgrades.

Seriously you have no idea how good Wennberg is.

He's Selke caliber defensively. He had 39 pts in his last 54 games (a better pace than Henrique scores at). He has 3 pts in his first 2 this year. Zacha is a prospect, who might end better, might end worse, either way sets the clock back on the rebuild substantially.

** I'm not saying he is definitely better than Henrique right now, but if he's in the same neighborhood in terms of effectiveness now you can bet he's worth a lot more, being a 21 year old with #1C upside.

I have no horse in this race but I'd say league wide Henrique holds more value.

As of now, maybe. If Wennberg keeps up his play from last season(which its looking like he is) than Wennberg definitely will have more value. (if only he could win some damn faceoffs)

Seriously though, he could honestly make people in columbus forget about Johansen. Ever since that trade Wennberg has taken every chance to prove himself and excelled.

Wennberg is not Selke calibre. Pump thy brakes.
