Rangers fans seem to think Trouba is going to either become a 8m 3rd pairing guy, or someone will be willing to take on that contract in a year or two.
They also don't think that a top 3 team in the league is close to going deep enough in the playoff to sell futures.

As for Canucks fans interest in him, he is looking like an ideal future RHD for Hughes. He could also Crack bottom pairing as early as next season.

Rangers also have lundkvist on the right-side, so Canucks fans see Schneider as a piece the Rangers could use to upgrade for this, and possibly, next year's playoffs.

Personally, I see it just as likely they trade Schneider as keep him at this point. Many GMs will be trading futures with the team the Rangers have to make it better.

Young RHD that is decent defensively, I'm guessing. A lot of fans see Quinn as needing a partner he can play with for the rest of his career and cover him while he plays a free flowing offensive minded game. Ala Stevens-Niedermeyer or Coffey-Huddy.

Dude that doesn't even get you Brock Boeser, Let alone adding Rathbone to the deal. And how are the Rangers even going to afford Boeser? He'll probably get either 7x7 or 7x7.5 on his next deal.

Regardless of value being in favor of the Rangers, the Rangers are not in cap position to add a player that demands as large a contract as Boeser next year without other major moves being made. It doesn't make sense. If the Rangers add, it will be mid-price rentals.
