i'm not sure why everyone assumes val is the only "man" that was in the room. some speculate about the team being the "man," but it is possible there was another person there with val at the same time that things went down. if we are looking at someone taking documents that could well have happened and then that person left the scene. the entire way this has played out is extremely unsettling and it is silly for people to just dismiss it. a key player literally just left his team mid playoffs and some are trying to act like there is nothing to see here...

The part where the doctor goes to share something important about Nuke’s “medical history” which has to do with whatever went on in that hotel room, then stops to ask if it can be kept secret, then the cop tells him not to say it because they’re being recorded.

Hard to imagine it was something like “yeah he’s got a bum ankle, let’s take it easy on the stairs”.

Ah. Thing is he being a doctor can't just share anything medical publicly, so it might not be anything more than just keeping that stuff private. They did block other audio as well in the video. I have seen quite a few police body cam videos the past few years and they block/redact quite lot of audio from them when sharing people's private info.

The woman is intoxicated and worried. She probably had an expired visa. So she is stressing about that and saying her passport is gone. If she gave the cops her passport with an expired visa, she'd be in trouble. Deported and banned for 10 years.

She could also be someone who is being forced into the sex trade. Often some pimp will steal a foreign girl’s passport and other documents as one of several methods of controlling her.

If you were a victim of trafficking you would be grateful to be out of your situation and with the authorities and EMS... this woman was combative the entire time, also said something along the lines of "I should've never came here, he's a bad guy," not the typical relief or thankfulness or someone just rescued from trafficking.

I think she got enticed to hang out with a guy because he's rich and famous then clearly regretted it after a bender and realizing he's a douche. It's like those Instagram models who getting hit on by rich guys offering them free vacations.

Nichushkin definitely got some explaining to do to his wife though.

Possible but unlikely. Her pimp may have other means of controlling her (threats to family, physically holding on to her money/passport, etc). The longer she has been a victim in that type of situation, the easier it will be to control her for said scumbag.

Clearly Nichushkin was being prescribed some sort of pain killer, that if taken in large quantities COULD lead to a reaction that the victim was having, especially if combined with other drugs and alchohol. The Doctor was being a good person by giving the EMTs something to check for, and was at the same time protecting Nichushkin because he didn't want to make an accusation.

I get it. I don't know the story. However it is a big deal and a scandal regardless of whether someone has the girl's passport or not.

1) On the afternoon of a Stanley Cup Playoff game, it's pretty clear that a key player was so impaired that playing the game was not an option. That's a scandal in and of itself.
2) A young lady who was with that player was apparently in such a state that a team doctor directed for an ambulance to be called.
3) The young lady was agitated and yelling that some "bad guy" took her documents.
4) The player in question has not been seen or heard of since -- let alone playing for his team in the playoff games subsequent to that day.

Now, some are assuming that they young lady is an eastern european prostitute who is under the control of a pimp who has her travel documents. Perhaps that isn't the case - I don't know. But let's not pretend that doesn't happen around the world every single day. It just does.

If I were a betting man, a player with a real substance abuse problem of some sort connected with a hooker (hooker and her pimp are probably entirely separate issue) and they both got well and truly f***ed up. So much so the young lady needed medical assistance.

From all we can tell (or that I've kept up with) there is not a criminal investigation re: VN.
He's not near a big enough "star" athlete or have the clout for this to be covered up.
Especially being it occurred on the road.

Since there has been no additional info and the league has said there is no investigation , going to lock this up. If there is anything new, we can then revisit this. As of now it’s just wild speculation.
