Bobby Hull passes away (MOD #23- stay to hockey- see Admin warning within)

Loved Bobby Hull! Who didn't want to be Bobby Hull growing up and whistling a shot near a goaltenders ear as you departed the ice! Never forget the Golden Jet!!!Increasing player salaries, freedom of movement between teams(UFA) and a Start up League owes a debt of gratitude to Bobby Hull, the Legend, the co-innovator of the curved stick, the big Slapper and the Love of Offense and goals. Had there been no WHA-Bobby Hull there still would be no teams in Western Canada besides Vancouver and the NHL outside the 6 teams would have been a Failed League

R.I.P. Bobby!!!

Wonder how many goals he would have got if he did not defect, I am thinking 800 plus.
Ya,i would think Ovie would have either just passed him, or would be passing him soon. Too bad about business getting in the way of sport.

84yrs old, and didn’t take care of himself. This is less of a blow than Borje (or Guy or Mike….)

He is well known among hockey fans in Swden who remember The Hot Line in Winnipeg. Bobby said many times he was rejuvenated by joining Winnipeg and their skilled hockey.
One of the greatest lines in the hisory of Hockey anywhere...Bobby Hull,Anders Hedberg and Ulf Nilsson! Would have loved to have seen them starting out in today's game with the emphasis of scoring, finesse and Skill minus the Goon hockey that the NHL was in the 50's,60's70's,80's,90's and the new millennium up until a few years years ago. The success of the Sjoberg,Nilsson,Hedberg paved the way for the Tre Kroner. They as well as Borje were All-Stars in any era and time. Would have loved to have seen an 8 game series with them and Team Canada in 1972 except with Bobby Hull playing for the Tre Kroner since the NHL snubbed him in 1972 for Jumping ship to the WHA to help the fledgling League succeed!!!

A friend of mine who was a hockey player with the University of Manitoba got to practice with Hedberg and Nilsson a few times. Said they were ridiculously good.

The legendary Blackhawks have been passing off. So sad as a Hawk fan. Glen Hall is still alive at 91 years old, off the cuff I think he is probably the last of the old time legends alive. Sign you are getting old when your childhood heroes are passing away.

Deaths the last several years:
Pierre Pilote - 2017
Bill White - 2017
Stan Mikita - 2018
Whitey Stapleton - 2020
Tony Esposito - 2021
Eric Nesternko - 2022
Jim Pappin - 2022
Bobby Hull - 2023
