I like Horvat & there is a need (barring not signing UFA Hertl/Trochek for Free).

But I'd rather keep Hronek & Veleno & other top6F/top4D, we're still thin on talent everywhere.

Assuming Horvat extension = '23 1st (top3-5 protected) + Rasmussen + Tuomisto/McIsaac. No more unless it's another minor piece, i.e. 3rd/b-level prospect. Maybe take a small cap dump back if needed.

You guys can't just substitute Ras for Veleno without adding more value somewhere else. Rasmussen is a bum and you you know it.

he’s only gotten in fights to protect himself. Decent on the pk? Worst pk in the league. How many of those goals were important ? How many of them were empty nets?

go look at the interviews. Those ask a player questions and lays commercials he’s in. Everyone is with a teammate except him.

The team gave up after the team trades gaudette. Who’s responsible for that ? The pearson signing ?

with a boat load of young players on team, I’m
Sure they were thrilled when Horvat said no fun on the road. Ever think why Schmidt left ?

no point of arguing with Canucks homer .

He has only actually fought in response to teammates getting hit, but you'd know that if you actually knew anything about the team, calling me a homer when your so damn clueless is hilarious.

Lays commercials? Lol go look at Boeser's, Petey's, Gaudette (when he was here), go look at all of their instagrams and you will see them doing things together in the community, look at the video after Boeser signed and first came back to the team and the bear hug that Bo gave him and how happy they both were, you literally have ZERO idea what your talking about if you think Bo is a bad teammate and the evidence against you is staggering bud.

Our PK is garbage yes, Bo is still decent on the PK.

Oh you mean how many GWG did he have in the playoffs, look for yourself there is a reason I called him clutch.

Horvat said no video games on the road and that team bonding was the way to go, OMG what a shitty leader.

It's actually f***ing hilarious how absolutely clueless you are, like zero facts to your ignorance.

I’m not trying to knock Horvat when I say this as he is obviously a good leader and a good all around player but that’s a good amount of pieces for a guy that’s under .70 PPG in the NHL. Yes points aren’t everything, but what Detroit needs is a game breaking center. ( what team doesn’t or wouldn’t want another)

I think the Wings miss the playoffs in 23 too so that first could be high

I'm pretty trash at gauging player value, but I thought I'd give this a stab.

Realistically I don't think this is a trade that would happen until the summer, in a scenario where Vancouver moves in a new direction and Horvat could agree to an extension in Detroit.

I'm open to discussing other assets from Detroit's end. You're welcome to ask for Larkin, Seider, Raymond, and Edvinsson, but if I'm honest I think that Yzerman is unlikely to move those pieces right now.

DET receives: Bo Horvat

VAN receives: DET '23 1st round pick, Filip Hronek (RHD), Joe Veleno (C)

Personally I’d wait a year and re-visit after UFA this summer. If we can’t find a similar #1a/b C in free agency then I’d do this trade as long as an extension was in place for Horvat

What more do you think 1.5 years of a ~60pt #2C is worth?

You’re getting a pick likely around #10 overall, a top 4D who’s still young and a #2/3 C prospect

If it's a "draft day" sort of trade, and we know that the Detroit pick is a Top-5 pick, the value is probably there, or at least in the ballpark. But as it stands? Heck no, i'm not trading Bo Horvat for a ~middle of the first round pick in the mid-late teens, and a garnish of peripheral "extras".

Frankly, i just don't see what trading Horvat does for the Canucks. He's not only one of the best players they have, and a reasonably young one at that...he's the "heart and soul" of the team and face of the team in dealing with an overtly hostile public as well. He's invaluable.

If they were going to consider a Horvat trade...it'd have to be for either a Top-3/5 pick in this strong looking draft. Or for a young defenceman with the potential to be a true #1D long-term. Anything else, and it's just a "quantity for quality" trade, and those are almost always a losing proposition.

That’s easily an overpay by us (detroit) remove veleno and make the first rounder top 10 protected. Becomes an unprotected 2024 first rounder if it doesn’t convey.

Horvat would be a huge upgrade over Fabbri as 2C, but IMO, Wings are still nowhere close to being comfortable trading away 1st round picks.

Yikes. 2023 NHL draft is the Bedard/Michkov draft. Horvat is 26 and likely 2 years away from a decline.

That's one hell of a risky trade. I don't see Detroit doing that.

I understand he's very important to Vancouver, but his contract status is a problem.

You can't expect a team to trade top dollar when they only might get 1.5 years. Can't negotiate an extension until a year left IIRC.

Just my opinion

I like Veleno but I would be very surprised he ever puts up the point totals Horvat has averaged. I do not see the Wings doing anything major if Larkin and Veleno our are two most offensively gifted centers

Red Wings isnt giving up a top pairing D + A grade prospect + a 1st rounder for 28 year old .62ppg player who seems to be in decline, in the middle of a rebuild...

Horvat for Schneider-plus (Chytil?) from the Rangers?
Schneider won’t be dealt.
If I’m the rangers I’d offer Chytil+Lundkvist + 1st for Horvat + 3rd/4th
Give them a choice if they want kravtsov in place of chytil/Lundkvist

gives the nucks 3 solid young pieces with control that all can be solid impact contributors for them if they hit their ceiling
