Bo's falling out of flavour in COL. Before tonight, he was tied for the league lead in minor penalties, and took another in OT tonight. Not sure if he's got too much responsibility with Girard out, but his awareness (and confidence) is abysmal lately.

Doesn't necessary have to be a Dman coming back.
- Boone Jenner (if Columbus wants a culture change)?
- Konencny?
- Lundell (although I don't think FLA needs dman)?
- Or swap him for Noah Hanifin+?

What's his value?

Avs won't move him unless its for a 2C and likely wouldn't be until the off season

Weird, I was told lately he's one of the best Colorado players...

Before this year started he probably was(Although still overrated by a number of Avs fans).

He's been pretty bad this year though. Mind you I think this thread is realistically pretty premature. I cant see the Avs having much interest in trading him unless they're getting a young Top 6 Center in the deal.

Now lindholm starts to make more sense esp as it looks like hanifin will be gone at some point this year as well. Calgary still needs D

Somehow I doubt Colorado even considers moving him. He’s a whopping 22 years of age and has had stretches of very good-elite play. There’s still a very strong likelihood that he’s a top pairing defenseman some day. Even if he’s been poor to start the year that does not justify moving an asset of his caliber

I offered Zub not long ago and was laughed at...
Would rather upgrade upfront since lately Manson, Jones and JJ have been playing better. Also doesn’t make sense for the Sens. Right now our 2nd line is basically Wood-Colton-O’Connor. RyJo, Tatar and Drouin (looking good lately) are way too inconsistent. Don’t think he will be moved though with Girard’s absence.

This feels like a mistake for COL.

Avs re-signed Toews to a 7 year contract which doesn't start till next year, and have Girard for 3 more years after this year. There's also Sean Behrens in the system in his 3rd year in the NCAA. And also used a 1st rounder on a russian dman last draft. The left side D should be fine.

Meanwhile the 2nd line is a black hole with Drouin - Ryjo - Tatar (who has 0 goals). Avs are playing with a top line, and 3 3rd lines. Lehkonen should come back sometime this year, but that's about it. Not counting on Landeskog, even though some reports are saying playoffs (much like last year).

And it was deserved. Weird that you’re flexing about that.

The obvious would be Henrique or Monahan. I'm guessing they'd have to add one of their defenseman prospects to any deal to make it work.

Nope. Now go fail at some other thread where you can also pander to Habs fans.

Yeah, really? Byram is 22, he played so well during that successful Cup run. If Colorado fans want to trade him it can only mean he's so terrible right now that fans just can't stand him. No way any fan would want to trade a young talented defenseman who plays great... not even great just decent.

It’s an unrealistic and dumb premise for a thread. The Avs aren’t going to trade Byram with Girard being away from the team.

Avs fans are frustrated because he’s going through a stretch where he’s been getting a lot of penalties. But it should be mentioned that he’s been shuffled around between the left and right side. The reason he was on the right side was because the coach(es) felt it was better than having Girard on the right side (where Girard has played a significant amount). They wouldn’t have done that without a certain amount of trust in Byram.

Now he’s back on the left side with Manson. Manson from time to time will leave his responsibility. Sometimes the penalties could be from that. But the broadcast rarely clarifies or even speculates about this so the only thing that registers with fans is that he has another penalty.

Having said that, he should skate the puck up the ice more on offense and tone it down on defense instead of the opposite. Ryan Johansen is a 2C with 1 assist, so the Avs could use Byrams help on offense.

Jenner is not being moved, and surprisingly, defensemen are not the issue in Columbus. Everything else is.
Jenner absolutely not. I would probably consider moving one of the defensemen (obviously not Jiříček, Werenski or Mateychuk) plus something else for Byram though.
