Yes. His skating on the drive was fine, but, when he decided to make a move with the puck, he slowed up, allowing the defender to bring his stick nearer, making Toropchenko rush his motion, and fumble the puck, losing some control.

Gotta produce. He doesn’t PK, or provide anything defensively and physically. So when you go that long without scoring, you’re not helping the team.

Plus, playing 7 D helps lower Scandella’s minutes so that he doesn’t get injured and we can trade him.
