Like I said earlier in this thread, this team is mediocre with a good power play. 3 of their 4 goals today came with a man advantage on the ice.

They suck 5on5. They suck at defending. The goaltending sucks. They suck at checking.

Kyrou was horrendous today. Thomas was no better. These 2 should not be on the same line unless you are down a goal late because zero one of them has the will to check and defend. Throw Krug on the ice with them and 60% of your players are small guys with no will to defend.

This team is not worth wasting assets on because unless they decide to start checking and defending, they are not close to being a cup contender with a move or not.

I don't think it matters if the team is good or not, our biggest hole is #1 LD and we need it fixed. Not just for this year either but for the foreseeable future.

I highly doubt any team is offering more than a 3rd rounder for Husso.
Certainly, no team will offer a 1st for a goalie who has played only 40+ games in The NHL. Maybe a desperate team might offer a 2nd (especially a late one). But, Armstrong won't trade Husso because he'll be needed in this season's playoffs. We don't know if Binnington will need rest (but chances are good he will); and even more important, Binnington may stay in his slump, and it would be good to have Husso in hand to play all the rest of the playoff games if Binnington is playing poorly. I wouldn't feel confident with Lindgren or Hofer, especially as neither has played much with The Blues' players, and they don't know each others' tendencies well enough, and neither has played enough NHL games for Berube to know if they'll be able to handle playoff pressure while still in their first handfull+ of NHL games. In the weird situation of The Blues making a big package Deadline trade to obtain a high-quality defenceman, and the other team was also desperate for a goalie, and the hot Husso was asked for as the kicker, after a lot of failed negotiation, because the other team kept saying that The Blues' offers were coming up too short, Armstrong might consider it. But, I think that is VERY unlikely, especially because Lindholm is already gone. Maybe if he wants Chychrun, and Husso would be the kicker. But, I don't think The Yotes would be desperate for a goalie, and if they were, I don't think it would be one who has had an up-and-down, highly inconsistent development period, and has played only a little over 40 games in The NHL.

Absolutely. Armstrong won't overpay for a rental, nor an over 31-32-year old defenceman, who can't be a long-term high-quality asset for this team over the next 5-8 years. But, IF he can engineer a bargain deal for The Blues for a younger player who has several more years left on his contract, OR is open to be restructured and extended, he will make the trade, even if it is at The Deadline. If none are available, I'm sure he'll make such a trade just before, or at The Draft.

Three One Goal losses in a row. Interesting.

I've been thinking about this and am wondering where exactly our problem is. We've had several one goal losses and can't see a pattern, maybe someone can or does. Missing an elite LHD would mean we should be worse than we are, but we're still hanging on to a playoff spot. Is it really a blueline issue or are we deficient in another area of the lineup?

Still not worried. Cup in hand, I expect Army to do something to help keep the window open and concern himself less with the future. Given the changes we have coming up, we should be fighting now, not later, for another Cup.

you won't fix that issue at the trade deadline by overpaying with the assets you could be using in the summer to solve that issue.

have we ever seen a blues team play as lazy and uninspired as this one?

its like watching a bunch of chris stewarts and brad boyes out there on the ice. so much talent but just no will or desire.
