In the NCAA, he is tied for 6th in total goals and 11th overall in points per game. He is the best player on his team. What excites me is that he has an amazing wrist shot AND one-timer. I can't wait to see him next to Thomas at some point.Snuggerud‘s year is hard for me to get excited about. I like that he seemingly has rounded out his offensive game a bit. So that’s good. However I keep feeling like I have to weigh all of this against how many years he has been in college. If this happened last year I would have been more excited. But for a guy at his level, I would expect him to be dominant as a junior.
Korotky fetches the puck and feeds it to the blue line for a secondary PP assist
Morty’s is NOT P9s.OT, but I remember some speculation a while ago that mortys was his alt account
He's getting really good PP time lately too. Hopefully next season is a true breakout year.I'm very impressed with Korotky's production in the KHL given his age (19) and ice time. He may be the most under-the-radar, dark-horse prospect the Blues have in the system right now.
It’s quite possible. I don’t watch KHL games so have only seen clips but him 1. actually getting ice time with SKA at his age and 2. putting up respectable points since being promoted to the KHL (9 pts in 26 games) is certainly notable.I'm very impressed with Korotky's production in the KHL given his age (19) and ice time. I’m going to hold out hope he actually can keep the pace. I would certainly love to see him play a center wing role in the playoffs as they have matchup problems down the middle. Dvo is not a matchup center versus a large center. Hes just not that type of player right now. Defense isn’t his thing. That would certainly hep them in the playoffs should Stancl possibly be that guy.How is Stancl’s overall play?
LOL that'd be news to meOT, but I remember some speculation a while ago that mortys was his alt account
I would be shocked if a just-turned 20 year old Stancl could jump from the WHL into a defensive matchup center/wing role in the AHL. The jump from junior to the AHL is a huge one and effective defense is generally the most difficult part of that adjustment. Guys who are lauded as great two way players in junior very rarely look like great defensive players in their first few dozen pro games. Usually the ramp up to quality pro defensive play takes much longer than that.I’m going to hold out hope he actually can keep the pace. This is the first he has been asked to be a top line player this season. He’s basically Been a role player in league and internationally prior to this. He has been a god send to Kelowna playing two way hockey and putting up points with Crystall as defense is secondary to his offense. I think a simplified game shouldn’t be too much of an ask for a playoff run. May be some hiccups, but the goal is just stay on your guy and chip it out.I would be shocked if a just-turned 20 year old Stancl could jump from the WHL into a defensive matchup center/wing role in the AHL. That role makes a ton of sense for Stancl in the medium-term. It's the role I'd like to see him in next year and I think he has the skillset to potentially be a good two-way player in the NHL. But I don't think he's going to be upgrading Springfield's defensive play a month from now. I'd expect him to make his fair share of really bad rookie mistakes off the puck while he acclimates to the much bigger, stronger, faster, and significantly better structured level of play in
Yes, stay close and frustrate the opponent. This is the first he has been asked to be a top line player this season. He’s basically Been a role player in league and internationally prior to this.
