Korotky continues to dominate. Would love to see him get the call up to the VHL or even KHL soon enough to play with Demidov. If he were to make that MHL to KHL jump like Kaprisov, then we'll be in business.
He certainly seems skilled. And I’ll have to watch more but in the few clips, his hockey sense appears to be good too. At least offensively, which is really all the highlights show so far.

But he’s in Russia’s deepest system. There’s both good and bad to that. Still, he’s absolutely dominating Jrs so hopefully can earn a trip up to their VHL team. SKA didn’t even bother to find room on their KHL team for Michkov. So Demidov being there is quite impressive. I doubt they’d make room for Korotky though. That said, I haven’t paid much attention to their depth, needs etc yet though so who knows. Just basing that off of SKA’s historical treatment of their teenage players.

SHL Notes:

Otto Stenberg buries one! I didn't see it unfortunately, but let's pretend he trucked a winger, dipsy-doodled the D-men, then shook the goalie out of his jock before going backhand top cheese.

Flipping the game on now...

Stenberg finished with 1 goal, +1. Malmo won the game 3-2. The game was closer than it should be thanks to a last minute goal by Ty Rattie.

Go to the net and good things will happen. I really feel like the polish in Stenberg's game is going to allow him to make the team next season. He's the type of player you can stick on the 3rd line and feel comfortable with it.

Colin Ralph got an assist in his first game with St. Cloud State last night. It was a wrist shot from the point that got tipped in. St. Cloud got the win and Ralph was +1.
I wanted to watch that game and it totally slipped my mind. I've never seen Ralph play so I'm excited to see the big man move.

Yee Olde Standards:

Technically speaking, Hofer would still be considered a prospect.
I'd agree to exemptions for Hofer, Tucker and Alexandrov. They're close enough to the 65/45 threshold.
I'd exclude Abramov, Beck and Sim(doubt they make the top 20 anyway).
Sylvegard and Johannesson should be included(as should Malmstrom).
McGing has aged out, Laferriere is entering final year of eligibility.

Kessel I would leave on, simply because I'd like to see where people think he ranks in regards to our other D prospects.

Abramov with five goals in 11 games to start the year for Torpedo. Anything to this or have Blues already cut bait?

Will McIsaac reminds me of Matt Kessel quite a bit with his size and skating, but less polished for sure. It was McIsaac at Mrsic tonight in Prince Albert. Spokane won 2-0 with an ENG.

Mrsic had one of those one time chances from the right circle that he rifled but was stopped. Then he got hurt with an undisclosed injury and was out the rest of the game. No idea what the injury is, it wasn't obvious from the game play, the announcers didn't notice.

Yep he's very smart and fluid defensively. Good instincts, smart, simple and efficient with the puck.

Hope he can become like a Brett Pesce type over time.

McIsaac stood out positively to me a couple times in preseason/prospect games. Fingers crossed he can develop into a legit NHL dman, would be huge for the org given his size and handedness. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on!

He jumped up a couple times into the offensive zone but they were well calculated moments. Another player in the big, mobile, physical, steady IQ dept on the backend is good to have.

I noticed on the PK he was over on the left side but mainly played RD. Plenty of minutes

I was surprised to realize Catton is also on Spokane. He eventually did get some mild/moderate chances off the rush but this was not a showcase game for a top 10 pick
