The two guys they should have gotten rid of (Atkins and Shapiro) have succeeded in trading their cows for a bunch of, maybe, magic beans.
I’m not sure how anybody could still be confident that these two are making solid moves for the franchise. This season has been a disaster but the Toronto media is still trying to polish this turd.

Is where I remind everyone that I’m a Yankees fan ( 1.5 games back, right @Stoneman89 ), but still a card carrying Canadian? :)

What a deal for Kikuchi. God damn that's a hefty return. JT with some classy ass going away comments, hope he gets some good time in for Seattle.

One has to hope for another 6 losses for the White Sox, no?

Nothing like writing history that goes back to 1889

Jays are a gongshow organization, but what a PR disaster to not put Votto in their lineup in their series against the Reds. I get that he was no where near MLB playability ready, but you have some class and dress him against his former team, then have him retire afterwards.

Aaron Judge is absolutely tearing it up now, and I give Soto a great deal of credit for giving him some protection. They seem to feed off each other, and Chisholm added to the lineup, it really helps. But September and October await...for both Judge and the Yankees.........:D

Bowden Francis has pitched a no hitter through 8 innings today. That the Jays announcers are questioning whether or not he’s going to be coming out for the ninth inning illustrates how crappy MLB baseball has become in 2024.

And just like that Francis gives up a home run to lead off the ninth. Too bad. It’s been a long time since I can remember a Jay pitcher getting so close to one. I remember Dave Stieb’s no hitter way back when and how close he got a few other times. Pretty sure Halladay took a no hitter to the ninth also but that too was probably over 25 years ago.

If the jays could claw back to .500 that would be pretty wild. Doesn’t mean much in the end but at least the season would look more positive I guess.

It’s like the Oilers in the decade of darkness- play good at the end when it doesn’t matter. Still fun to watch

That sounds like a typical Flames season. High expectations at the start of the year from media and the team, shit the bed, win a bunch in garbage time, fans get excited about next year. Repeat. ;)
