Answer the question, would you rather have Atkins than Cashman?I have no idea why you brought up a comparison after 3 games in the first place. As I've said, beyond stupid.
And as I actually have stated, Cashman has had about 80 million more in payroll to work with, so the expectation should be much higher. Again, beyond stupid.
By the way, since you're bringing up their current standing. Who made the playoffs last year and who finished in last place?
My answer would be neither if it was a choice,Answer the question, would you rather have Atkins than Cashman?
(If you answer yes I’m gonna have to question your sanity )
Yup, that’s what I would say as well.My answer would be neither if it was a choice,
I only responded to your Turner/Soto comparison later on, was just to show you how utterly stupid it is to compare players 3 days into a 162 game schedule, and how quickly things can change, one way or the other. I still have my doubts whether you understand this or not.Answer the question, would you rather have Atkins than Cashman?

bingoThe only reason I continued the comparison of Turner and Soto later on

Unfortunately, the other participant has brought a knife to the gunfight in the battle of logic. Just frustrating at times. Like trying to hit a pinata in a windstorm. You two should have a barn fight, Brian Burke style.
I made a reasonable extrapolation based on history and ages of the players. And the numbers are bearing that out right now.I only responded to your Turner/Soto comparison later on, was just to show you how utterly stupid it is to compare players 3 days into a 162 game schedule, and how quickly things can change, one way or the other. Like I said, I don't believe you get it, so I'm moving on.I made a reasonable extrapolation based on history and ages of the players. And the numbers are bearing that out right now.
I get it, the numbers are supporting my narrative.Like I said, I don't believe you get it, so I'm moving on.
It sure appears that way. Still a bit of a control issue but that’s always been his issue, Would like to see more but he was impressive today.Holy sh**! Is Manoah actually back?
He was as impressive today as at anytime in 2022.
Had a great day, but it's going to take a lot more than one start to convince me of anything substantial.Holy sh**! Is Manoah actually back?

He's had 2 good starts in a row. He's trending in the right direction.Had a great day, but it's going to take a lot more than one start to convince me of anything substantial.
I was surprised they brought him back up so soon without him showing a lot more in the minors considering how bizarre everything was around him last year but he’s looked really good in all his starts. The last start where he threw 57 pitches to get through 6 innings was very impressive. We still don’t know what his issues really were last year but he does look more relaxed on the mound now then he did then so maybe he’s got that figured out.Holy sh**! Is Manoah actually back?

If he's got the mental part figured out finally, then he's 90 % there. As we've all seen, he definitely has the physical tools. His sinker, slider and 4 seamer were deadly the other day and he mixed them perfectly.I was surprised they brought him back up so soon without him showing a lot more in the minors considering how bizarre everything was around him last year but he’s looked really good in all his starts. Hell I'm hoping they'll dress the home run jacket. Lots of empty jerseys on this team and someone... something ... needs to provide some pop.So… Not only did the Jays bring back the home run jacket tonight they’ve also introduced a red carpet for the player to walk on through the dug out, at least they’ve got something to play for now. I guess the battle for professionalism was lost to these players.
I had no problem with moving out the players they did. I agreed with the reasons for doing it. As good as Hernandez and Gurriel were as hitters their defense was so awful it was costing them games in the field. Throw in Teoscars poor attitude and it made sense to move him out. The issue here is what they valued in return. Their professional scouting department is a joke as is their entire management philosophy starting at least with Atkins and likely including Shapiro himself. I’d have cut Shapiro some slack if he’d have fired Atkins last November. It was clear to everybody else after last season that the team had gone down the wrong path and it was time to change course. He didn’t see it and is clearly part of the problem himself. It’s a shame what these two have squandered here over the last few years. There was so much promise.Hell I'm hoping they'll dress the home run jacket. Lots of empty jerseys on this team and someone... something ... needs to provide some pop.
This management group Galaxy Brained their window shifting from a power team into small baller, defense and run suppression little leaguer group.
I think everything is exacerbated by Vladdy and Bo not being the franchise cornerstones they were supposed to be. The mental gaffes and massive plate inconsistency in their games this far into their run is not what I expected.I had no problem with moving out the players they did.
