Hard to dispute that this is pretty much the best pitcher in the world though. And if not, right there.
I would almost venture to guess that it would be Price and Cespedes for that much going out.
I'm guessing pretty low.
Chances are he will go to FA, not to say the Jays wont offer him a good deal, but he will probably want to see what the market is like, and if the Jays pony up then maybe re-signs and stays here, but I would think it's highly unlikely he signs a deal before seeing offers from every team.
considering AA's love for control, he must think he's got a great chance at extending him. This is just so... anti-AA.
I can handle losing norris

Yeah, no question, but as DJQ said... offer him Scherzer money immediately and work your way up. Most people who've come here have fallen in love... well, maybe not Roger Clemens, but he's generally an exception to everything.

plenty of guys sign and take the guaranteed money rather than test the market
Martin gets a $7 mil raise next year
Donaldson will get a ~ $6-8 mil raise
Hutchison and Cecil will get raises. Which will pretty much take up a good portion of that.
I doubt Hutch or Cecil get much....they aren't exactly having seasons worthy of big raises.
Trading Norris + Alford + for 10 starts from Price???? That is the whole point here. Buerhle and Dickey's salaries are going off the books regardless if we get Price or not. Losing Norris + Alford does not NEED to happen. Then use some of the money they have saved with the others guys leaving to sign somebody else. Or look to make a trade.
Not keeping David Price doesn't mean they won't get somebody else.
Kershaw is indisputably the best pitcher in the MLB.
