If we're dealing Norris for Price and there's no extension, I hope there's another rental type included. Davis or Soria. Cespedes would be shooting for the stars. Not sure I'd want to pay that price, and I think tigers could get more for the two separately.

Joel Sherman in New York reports the Yankees are in on Price, but aren't offering a certain prospect (didn't hear the name, it was Jeff Blair relaying the report). If they won't offer that prospect and the Jays offer Norris - Jays get Price.

Man it sucks that Stroman is out. Not a fan of having him try to rush to make it back in September either.

Let's say we get Price and sign him, that also means one of Bautista/Encarnacion are likely to go after next year.

To sum it up, 1 year window for our best possible lineup if we trade for+sign Price. Risky.

Does anyone know where I can find post game interviews online? I can only find clips on TSN and want to see the whole thing the way the leafs site does.

I would almost venture to guess that it would be Price and Cespedes for that much going out.

I can't see how we can structure Price to fit him in long term. Seems like a dumb move for someone who will be here for 10 starts and currently out of a playoff spot.

You have to find a way if you get a pitcher like that.

We've always been hopeful that the Jays can develop a pitcher that can be the type of player that Price is. It hasn't worked with at least 10 different guys that they've tried (incl. Romero & Morrow). How much longer can they wait?

whether you like it or not..it's happening lol. deal with it.
Noooooo!!!!!

I have HIGH hopes for Norris and even moreso for Alford. Kid is going to be elite.

Again, if Price was signed then sure, I wouldn't be as sad. But for 10 effing starts you give up your two best prospects? And then what, Price walks away in free agency?

What are the chances he signs an extension?

Not sure that anyone could know. I mean he could like our lineup.. managements willingness to deal for big names, and the fact that we'd be challenging for a WS with him.. But he could also wanna go to FA. So we'll see haha

Ugh...that scares me like it scares most people on here. I'm not a big fan of rentals personally. This is THE guy, you need to be prepared to throw boatloads of $$ at him to secure him if you give up a ton to get him.

I'm guessing pretty low.

Chances are he will go to FA, not to say the Jays wont offer him a good deal, but he will probably want to see what the market is like, and if the Jays pony up then maybe re-signs and stays here, but I would think it's highly unlikely he signs a deal before seeing offers from every team.

I agree. We need to fill the Doc void once and for all.
