After seeing that Cole Hamels deal, makes me wish we had got more for Roy Halladay back in 2009. Travis d’Arnaud was a big piece and Michael Taylor in a round-about way turned into Devon Travis (via Brett Wallace and then Anthony Gose). But 6 prospects for Hamels is a nice deal for the Phillies.

Three top 100 prospects was an appropriate amount. If you wish they reached their potential, then that's a different story.

D'Arnaud was actually the throw-in at the time. Drabek was the big piece, he was a top 20 prospect.

I'd say the 3 prospects we got for Roy were just as valuable at the time as the package Philly got for Hamels.

If this is any proof as many other deals, prospects mean nothing then and the Jays should be acquiring what ever they can because prospects hold no guarantee. Drabek is useless, D'Arnaud at best will claim presidency of the DL, and Michael Taylor well he netted us Travis so jury is out on that one.

Yep. Although I disagree on Taylor, that man is a straight up bust. The fact that 3 trades later we have Travis to show for him is a credit to AA.

Morosi just tweeted the Jays offer is: Norris, Alford and Boyd and that might be enough to get it done.

Edit: Sorry, he didn't say that was the offer he said "an offer of .... may be enough." I mis-read the initial part. I thought he said: "The offer of..." When it was: "An offer of..."

A #BlueJays offer of LHP Daniel Norris, LHP Matt Boyd, and CF Anthony Alford may be enough to get David Price from #Tigers.

Hah. That's the package I proposed for Sonny Gray.

If we're giving that up, we better have an extension ready for Price. Otherwise, that's our #1 and #2/3 prospect for as little as 12 Price starts.

Executive involved in bidding for Price believes #BlueJays may indeed be close to landing him. “Not going to go on much longer,” he said.
