Less of a knock on Pompey, and more of shine on Alford. The bat grade should not be where it is given how little baseball he's played over the last three years. It's actually quite ridiculous. Of the two, he has the higher chance of being a 55 or 60, while Dalton is a true 50. In terms of projection, Alford has a chance to only have one sub 50 tool (arm).

That makes sense, and I tend to agree. Alford and Norris are probably the only two prospects that I would be crushed to see traded, though ultimately I would get over it because I think our window to win is the next 2-3 seasons.

How about we do something unexpected like moving Navarro for nothing for the money relief and roster spot.

I'd be sad to see Pompey go based on the fact that I think he should be here in Toronto helping this team right now and I think he's the best option for the job right now.

But Alford is more exciting for me.

that would be on the Brewers then, not the Mets.

No I know it would be on the Brewers. I meant Alderson could just be pulling everyone's leg or being coy about confirming the deal, he's a strange one

ALSO: EE is not going anywhere. Not only does he fit with the core and is cost controlled for another year (both AA priorities)... He has 10/5 rights, no chance he's considering accepting a trade before winter even if AA 180d

We should quickly rush in and try to make a deal with Encarnacion for some Mets pitching.

oh well Mets. We have a nice bat in EE if you want to part with something enticing.

Duda plays 1st. No DH. Not a good fit.

I've come to appreciate the way AA does business. When his deals are made they're almost entirely finalized and everything is confirmed right away. None of this "these two teams are talking", "player X has been pulled" stuff.

You keep reading he said IF travis is considered a prospect he had him at 55 and Norris at 60. I was wondering why

Travis' grades (imo):

Hit: 65
Power: 50
Arm: 50
Field: 50
Run: 50

Like I said, I love him. And he's a better ball player than his tools indicate. But he's not a 60. Norris is. To each their own of course.

Travis doesn't have 50 power and I would dispute the 65 hit tool.

Would love Price, but I'm scared to get a rental.

Don't want to clear farm for 10-15 games from a pitcher.

You might be upset, then, when we move both of them for Sonny Gray :)

I agree and I think AA does too. With the number of teams bidding I don't see us winning a rental situation on price.

There is talk of Det allowing a window for extension, which I think AA would pay a huge haul for, but Price isn't taking a 5 year deal unless it's at 30-40M per

I like the iso and love the bat to ball skill. I actually classed up the power from 45 to 50 in April prior to the shoulder injury when I saw the bat speed and pop. It's fluent for me.

The 65 I'll go to war on. He's had a wRC+ Of at least 120 at every level, and has shown the ability translate against major league pitching. The approach is tremendously mature for the age too. Again, my opinion, but I'll call it 65 for sure.

*** should note for clarity, I use 20-80 scale. 65 FV is .290 BA in the majors. 50 FV is 15-18 HR.

Which i would be fine with the jays paying with Dickey and Buerhle comming off the books. He would as a bonus be a fantastic mentor for Stro, Hutch, Sanchez, Norris

Price
Stro
Hutch
Estrada(resign)
Norris/Sanchez

They can then make a run for the playoffs by making a midseason deal for a cheap consistant guy (Estrada esq)

Dickey threw some shade at Reyes even though he said "that's no knock on Jose" lol.

"To have a double-edged (speaking of Tulo's offence and defence ability) knife like that, it's nice to turn around and see that"

It's not about us being fine with it... It's about ol Beest and the boys at Rogers. There's no chance Price takes anything short of 7-8 years

My point is the salary stays the same with him being really the only guy that gets paid. Im sure they would let a few more years slide if they get a guy at that caliber.
