-Bad goal allowed by Vanacek
-5 players don't have points
-Didn't use their coach's challenge
-Didn't get to 10 goals
-These wins against bad teams don't count
-Took 16 minutes to score the 1st goal
now i see. the negative clearly outweighs the positive.

on top of it the 3c was voted the first star and our 1c was never seen during the game.

To me - without having even having watched the game straight through, only checked in 4 times - this is absolutely the biggest win of the young season.

Because that team has owned us for so long I can’t remember a time when, if they weren’t out and out dominating us (with Panarin) they were beating us in games where we were outshooting and outplaying them. Like that one last year when Vesey made a huge dumb turnover with 8 minutes left in the third and us leading and, presto, we lose in the last two minutes.

So to beat them down like this. To win a game we ought to win and to dominate them. In a game where often in prior years we’d have a letdown. Well it just means the world in terms of where we are at.

6 out of 7. Maybe now we can finally get that elusive 4 game winning streak.

Our schedule has been insanely soft but I find it hard to believe that even with a tougher schedule we're not top 5 if not higher metric wise. We controlled play against the Avs at 5v5
To be fair they shutout the defending champs. In a tough game.

Yeah we’ve been playing some trash teams, but not even that accounts for how hard we’re working people 5on5.

I’m excited to see how we manage the Alberta squads

Yup. I mean that Dom article from the other day showed how there's only an average of 1 team a year who has a 7 game stretch like we did and we've now extended that to 9 games.

See, I don't disagree but the Flyers also have five wins who we lost to, and we gave Detroit their first regulation loss. So while the teams aren't that insanely strong they are some teams who have gotten off to rather good starts.

I also think along the lines of 'Build up habits against the lesser teams, and when the good teams play us, we've got a foundation.'

Philly's been shit. Hart's just been insane. Worst CF% and 3rd worst xGF%. What we did to them wasn't out of the ordinary. Detroit 5th worst CF% and 4th worst xGF%. What we did to them in both games (Vanecek imploding in the first still bothers me) makes sense. They're also bad

It feels sort of weird that this team is making me happy instead of just being part of my misery like the past 10 years. This is the type of hockey we all deserve after watching those toiletpaper lineups. You remember Rico was our leading scorer one year with like 40 points? Jesus...

LGD! Love this team.

First place in the Metro, stop the count!

Enjoy it while it lasts. Philthy and Torts have been even more impressive and are playing very well structured and hard nosed hockey. What a strong club they've been and they'll be in the division race all year long. The NYb are finally heating up under the new coach and so is Shesty and the Rags. Pitts will no doubt start winning again after they get back into the time zone.
