I doubt it. Washington tried in this one they just weren't opportunistic. Goaltending is the great equalizer as we all know.

Getting outshot 142-75 over 4 of the most important games of the year (2 of which we miraculously won due to great goaltending and one of which we got to OT thanks to great goaltending) would be choking away a spot when we had a 99.something% chance of making the playoffs at the start of the week.

You don’t get dumped head first in a garbage can and hand over your lunch money without a fight two days in a row. Caps were outscored 11 to 1 with an AHL goalie with barely any NHL experience playing on the back to back for the BJ!!!!

Your players get destroyed, bruised and bloodied including your top prospect Leonard who had his ass handed back to him. It’s shameful!!! It shouldn’t happen and it leaves traces.

• Goal differential.
• Total goals.

These are rarely ever used, but it has happened in the past.
