If X is in, MSL will likely go with an 11-7. He barely has 3 good lines anyway, could be interesting with the Habs having last change.
Last change makes all the difference. I can't see them scratching Laine for that reason unless he's banged up. Who else would we scratch on forward?

I Think we just have to roll the dice here and start Xhekaj over Struble

Zero response from the team for the crosscheck from Dowd on CC was unacceptabe. If the refs aren’t calling it someone needs to step up. Arber needs to play and send some messages, go after our best scorer with a cheap shot we go after yours.

The biggest problem with Arber is he's a defenseman. If he were a forward like Florian is, retaliation would be a much similar thing come playoff time. You can't afford to go an extended time with only two and a half pairs

Tbh,

If MSL doesn't play Xhekaj (a player we would be begging for right now, especially after how everything has gone the past 2 games, who we just so happen have sitting in the stands), then he's a damn f()()l.

If Jack doesn't play and the Habs lose in 4, you pretty much garantee that MSL is gone next year. The whole province will have his freaking head. lol

We have 2 D playing 10 mins now, surely that can be absorbed.

Arber may be well served by also practising as a forward during the offseason.

Yes but you never want to be forced into situations. Having them as security to put out whenever is valuable in itself. I'm not even saying don't play Arber. I'm just saying expecting him to retaliate to everything the caps do is a surefire way to be playing in a deficit

If he has to do it more than once he’s not doing it right

Umm I see that my idea of bringing in Florian is starting to grow. Been hearing it on twitter, in the press and so forth. The ball is in your court, Marty. I would take him over Laine, Armia, Kapanen even Evans.

This Xhejak talk everywhere is so f***ing insane. Holy f*** people are crazy.

At this point I feel like it was a mistake to even make the playoffs. Holy f*** the absurd pressure we put on the team like we have stashed the greatest f***ing defenseman to have ever played the game.

A 6th D, in the NHL, with 6 pts in the year in 70 games, that plays 10 minutes a night with sheltered minutes will suddenly change the outcome of this series by his presence? Gimme a break. Caps will feast on his presence

If you’re counting his points you’re missing the point

What can you do? Cross check someone on the other side in the mouth and hope it doesn't get called?

X can come in and retaliate but we all know how the officiating treats retaliators. And you can bet your bottom dollar that the officials will have a shorter leash on X whenever he does get in.

The refs just need to do a better job. A cross check in the mouth has always been a penalty, playoffs or not.

Be the aggressor, don’t retaliate, let the Caps see what it feels like and let them do the dumb shit. Watching games from the other series you can’t rely on the refs, they’re missing lots and very inconsistent in their calls
