Agreed. Although I'd argue if Quebec could get a CFL field they'd be a WAY better option than the maritimes. Laval as a mere CIS team averages over 14K per game (compared to the meager 2-3K U of M attendance). Quebec as a province has been producing more CFL players than anywhere since they are really football mad the past 10-15 years (no stats sorry). Quebec City is almost (or as) close to Fredericton and Moncton as Halifax, although I might very well be wrong there. Quebec City could be a great market they just need a CFL stadium.

Agree. Quebec City would be my top choice too. I've met a few folks from Quebec City who say they'd love a cfl team.

I think the city had an interested owner several years back but they just couldn't get the stadium stuff down and Laval was not interested in sharing house with the cfl

From a fan support perspective, I think it would be a surprising success

It would also help strengthen the French aspect of Canadian culture in the cfl, which thanks to Ottawa is being further reenforced. (Would be awesome if the Winnipeg sports teams supported more of a bilingual culture too btw)

As great as it is to be 3-0, i hope fans realize the team isn't as good as that number indicates. :/

Pros: Offense is light years better than it has been in probably 7 years (going back to the Glenn/Roberts era.) Chad Simpson isn't missed at all with Grigsby taking over the load. They continue to slot in WR's and have little to no issues with production (See: Kelly, Aaron.) Paris Cotton looks like he could be a nasty #2/change of pace type option in the backfield. Coaching is actually competent for the first time in god knows how long. Kicking seems to be fine too.

Cons: Offensive line is still putrid. Willy is gonna get killed if he keeps taking licks like he did on Friday. Edmonton will likely be an even bigger challenge with the d-line they're gonna be bringing to town. May be wise to start calling more roll outs to take heat off the line and Willy himself. Defense seems to have the tendency to give the big plays. Walker burned them good a couple times last week and obviously the Als had their fair share too. Kicker's name is obnoxiously hard to spell and pronounce.

At the very least, for the first time in as long as i can remember, the future is bright for the Bombers. It looks like they found their savior at QB. They got the pieces to put around him to allow him to succeed (Moore/Kelly/Kohlert/Watson. Along with the RB's.)

And with how weak the East is, i might go as far to say they might be assured a playoff spot already via crossover.

In terms of around the league, i would say Calgary is probably the best team right now. They completely dismantled Toronto without Cornish. That's pretty impressive.

I can see the Roughriders giving him a shot. He is pretty good overall but just got beat out by better backs.

SK likes bigger backs, once Sheets comes back from the NFL their running game should improve.

RB is the least of SK's worries, think they are still trying to figure out how they let Drew Willy get away!

Was at the home opener. Very encouraging! Nice to be entertained by your football team again, to know they can put up points, and be competitive. :) This town needs it. Will concede that the O-line needs to tighten up, and the defense as well.

Would have liked to keep him as depth behind Grigsby and Cotton but I prefer both of them to him.

No way they could keep 3 international RB's on roster (and Ford's not going to practice roster as #3 RB). Numbers game. Meh. I still think Cotton's the best RB we got.

I still think they'll go back to Allen. Hell he's STILL leading the league in rushing despite just 3 attempts last week.

Think your right, Grigsby has seen his rushing yards go down by half each game since his first game, think the BB will give him another start and go with Cotton if he can't produce, although he is a pretty good blocker.

they have Grigsby in for pass protection for the blitz. they need to reckognize blitzing or semi-blitzes and have him or the FB fake protection and get a 2 yard screen up the middle. lots and lots of running room. also, when your rusher is getting less than 10 carries a game, the D is no longer setting up against a running threat. they'll just send all men in on blitzes. gotta get more rushing. even if it's for 2-3 yards, you need at least 15 touches a game.

This is why I hope they bring in some two RB sets with Grigs and Cotton. Have one stay in for protection and the other do a quick swing or another type of quick hitter to try to take off the pressure. More screens would be nice as well to take some of the heat off.

I'm praying that Cotton gets some run on offence this week. Best RB I've seen in Blue and Gold in awhile during the preseason, probably since Roberts or maybe Reid, and he continued to show well on the kickoff returns in Montreal.

Not a fan of Grigsby myself. Goes down way too easy with any contact, great in open field. Open field is rare though, way too much east-west from him, and teams will adapt how they play him when all he does is test contain and pull a spin move 1 on 1.

problem is that their SB's been pretty darn good when they get the ball in his hands. i don't recall him doing much blocking or being used for most plays, though. good hands, decent speed, decent size, horrible hair.

I thought I read a stat (forget which game it was for or if it was for all 3), but Grigsby's yards after initial contact was very high.

Grigsby has been excellent for the BB, and has made some plays out of nothing. He had over 100 yards of offense in each of the 1st two games, and only had 60 in the Montreal game when the BB totally abandoned the run.

Cotton looked very explosive, and if they can get both of these guys going it could be very good.

Good to see the Bombers are winning. Pretty sure the most important piece and difference maker is a skilled and well trained rider qb ;)

Contemplating a trip to Regina to watch a certain skilled and well trained QB pick apart his former team!:sarcasm:

It would be bitter sweet to see Willy break the labor day 9 season winning streak but I am glad he is able to get into a starting role and show what he can do.
