I love O'Shea already. Just the way the players interact with him. You can tell the atmosphere is way better.

100% ...I don't know how this season will play out but O'Shea feels like the real deal. That was a great hire.

Think it's safe to say the building will be full for Friday's game against Ottawa.

Hopefully i can go. Usually my circle of friends try to make it out to one game a year. I wanna see how good this Redblacks squad is for myself.

That was a really fresh look from the Bombers D. Did a great job disguising blitzes and having guys show blitz only to drop back into coverage. They made Ray look as bad as I've seen him in years, though it might be a different story once teams start getting more looks at the Bombers D on film. Jason Vega was dominant all day, got upfield consistently on every play. Also thought Kuale looked good after being very meh in the preseason.

Grigsby looks like a stud. Great burst, great elusiveness, runs hard. I think he'll only continue to improve once he gets more comfortable with the three down game and knowing how much space he has. Not much more you can say about Willy than hasn't already been said. Even on his INT, he made the right read, just didn't put quite enough on it.

Special teams was the only thing that looked bad tonight. Other than that, damn impressive. Yes it's one game, yes the Argos looked horriawful, but there was finally a sense of cohesiveness with this team that I haven't seen since 2011.

If anyone's watching the game on tv, have they focused on the weird play posters the Argos are using at all? Hard to see across the field. Far as we can tell it's how they're dealing with the noise for play calling.

Yeah, those are the placards they use for the no-huddle offense. Has nothing to do with the crowd noise though, the coaches basically use though to let the players know the formation, snap count, play series, etc., and then the QB calls out the actual play at the line of scrimmage.

College teams have been using those for years, Philadelphia Eagles used them last season:

Special teams made that big play where Renaud threw that pass for a 1st down. I can't even remember the last time I've see a trick play by the bombers. Has been years. Tho that was just a missed assignment by the Argos.

Great game. Looked like a well coached team. Haven't seen that in years.

Willy looked really good. Whole team played well.

Would like to see longer returns on ST by bombers and less by opposition, but all in all, well done. Congrats to the Bomber players and staff. Long time coming.

Only one game, but that team had a 2011 feel. Unexpected and really fun to watch.

2011? By the way people were talking, I thought the team had been unspeakably bad for the past decade straight. :sarcasm:

Definitely one of the better games I've watched the Blue & Gold play in recent memory (last year's Banjo Bowl was pretty fun, but with all the new faces, this actually feels like the start of something). Willy & co. definitely exceeded even my optimistic expectations, but I wasn't shocked that we were able to do some things against that Argo D. I was more shocked by how well our new(ish) D fared against a Ray-led offence. I think our main issues this year will be depth - hopefully we won't have to deal with a bunch of injuries.

Great start... now don't lose momentum against Ottawa (got my ticket a few weeks back).

Except this team has an offence, and should have a decent one over 18 games.

The D is what I worry about. Great tonight, but you can see where it falls apart, lots of looks for the QB's to think about, basically makes it so the QB has to make his reads post-snap if they mix it up well enough and he can't figure out the tendencies (the problem for Etcheverry's scheme in the past has been going through the league for the 2nd and 3rd time once everyone has solid film to pick out tendencies). But, a lot of those checkdowns they induced depend on one guy making a tackle in space. Tonight, there weren't a lot of missed tackles. In a game where they miss some tackles, look out.

Solid effort tonight. O'Shea's post-game presser was pretty solid too, it's on the Bombers site, "GLEN SUITOR IS WRONG!" Suitor apparently said on TSN that Korey Banks was a healthy scratch.

Ok so I am sitting there legit just drunk as **** watching to game. I see the team line up and I go say very very loudly "there's NOBODY covering #27 what the hell". The ball snaps and Renaud tosses it up to #27 Teague Sherman for the first down. The whole section turns to me and says wow great call haha. It wasn't it was obvious and I'm super glad a smarter football person than me in Renaud recognized that. Awesome, love that O'Shea has given Renaud that responsibility to make that call, I don't think at all that was a called fake. Can't believe Toronto screwed up that bad.

What a game by the Blue and Gold. That will certainly drive fans back. This is not the same team we saw last year at all. This is a team that cares, a team that goes and gives it's all every night. What a game.

And yeah I agree Aaron Kelly is replacement level :sarcasm:. Our receivers are sick, all 5 of them. This year is going to be good, we'll be there for playoffs much as I said yesterday. Can't wait.

I think I am so conditioned to be ready for the Bombers to ******* up that the win hasn't quite registered yet.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Even when we went up 31-7 I half joked that I could still see them blowing it because that tends to be the pattern for our teams. My buddy laughed and said I was crazy and all I had to do was say "Anaheim....4-0...." and he realized that my semi-pessimistic tone was well warranted..

That being said this is the first time in a long time (including 2011) where I've been more optomistic about the future than pessimistic about when the other shoe will drop..
