What an overreaction from some people lol. Blackwood is an improvement over Georgiev at this point, in this environment. It had to happen. Kovalenko might've made the team in the future, but if we are healthy he's not playing. And above all, this season is what matters the most. 2nd round picks are just TDL fodder with our amateur scouting.

I think you can have a BIG issue with how CMac has handled the goaltending position overall, we could've had Lankinen during the summer or someone else, could've moved on from Annunen earlier (maybe even part of an Askarov trade). But good that he finally stepped up. We really need to start winning games at more than .500 clip, and completely revamping the goaltending position is a good step in doing that.

I mean i am very very happy to see George f*** off into the sunset but oh boy the package seems HUGE and Cmac actually retained some of Georges salary. Our GM and goalie really screwed us big time

Blackwood was my least favourite option available, if I'm honest. I would've preferred Gibson.

Kovalenko, IMO, was a bit overrated here. Couldn't contribute offense and extremely average defensively. I've been pretty vocal about his lack of contribution in all ends of the ice, although most here haven't really agreed with me. I'd much rather lose him over Ivan, for example.

I look at it as a 2nd + bottom 6 forward for Blackwood and dumping a problem in Georgiev.

Mildly amusing that George's last thing as an Av was bypassing Wedgie for the Big Hat and giving it to Colton. Sour little bitch.
