Can't believe the time has come where we never have to watch Georgiev in an Avs jersey again.

Kivi EARNED IT.Ivan made Kovy expendable. Also I bet a Kiviranta extension is coming.
I have to say, this was probably worth some pick. Maybe not Kovalenko, but pick for sure. Can't believe the time has come where we never have to watch Georgiev in an Avs jersey again.

Goaltending makes a big difference. Def. like it better. Our goaltenders were mental cases. Now at least we start fresh again. Hah.So in the event the Avs get healthy (I know, I know - someone gotta die) over the next couple of weeks we're looking at:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Lehkonen - Mittelstadt - Nichushkin
Kiviranta - Colton - O'Connor
Kelly - Ivan - Wagner
Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
De Haan - Malinski
Blackwood
Wedgewood
Avs still need IMO 2 bottom-six forwards and a defenseman to either replace De Haan as a lefty or Malinski as a righty and preferably one that kills penalties and is physical.
Still work to be done. LOC and Kiviranta gotta play 4th line, not 3rd line.
This is def. true.Put it this way. Blackwood is gonna help us win games more than Kovy would. It’s fine, bottom 6 forwards aren’t hard to find but good goalie is
Vs the best team in the NHL or close to it.This hat thing is being blown way out of proportion. Yes, Wedgewood had a shutout. But it was only a 25 shot shutout. It's not like it was 35+. It was a good performance but not an automatic best performance of the night type performance. He had also just had the hat the game before George, spread the love. I doubt that Wedgewood felt slighted at all. He's a team first guy. He was probably happy for Colton. Too much weight is put into that.
I mean in the Avs current cap situation 476k isn’t ideal. Why say the amount @Bill Peckerskull. Let the folks already pile on that its millions of $ to suit the narrative
Sharks fan here. I like Blackwood. D left him out to dry far too often. He tends to play better when he sees more rubber. Not ideal numbers when he's only facing 18-25 shots. Don't underestimate his ability to steal games.
Who knows what parameters they have set in that lockeroom for who gets it. Everyone is just trying to make something out of nothing. It's a big hat. Guarantee no one in that room cares as much as this place does.Vs the best team in the NHL or close to it.
He should always get it.
He’s a UFA at season’s end and is already making $2.35m.
If he is good for us, we won’t be able to afford re-signing him.
We already are using practically his whole cap hit. This is where we could really use some clarity on the Landeskog situation. We haven’t seen him in weeks so we don’t know if he had a big setback or he’s just working on his own away from any media. It would just be nice to find out if we can use his cap hit or not
*Big Hat, thank you.Who knows what parameters they have set in that lockeroom for who gets it. Everyone is just trying to make something out of nothing. It's a big hat. Guarantee no one in that room cares as much as this place does.
Yeah you are probably right. They give the hat for other reasons too, not just the result etc.Who knows what parameters they have set in that lockeroom for who gets it. Everyone is just trying to make something out of nothing. It's a big hat. Guarantee no one in that room cares as much as this place does.
I think if it's not goalies, then sure. It's that fraternity, there's only two of you usually, and it's the hardest most thankless job. Like catchers in baseball, except you get the blame for a loss way more than a catcher would ever. I've never played hockey, but I played a lot of sports, and that's the feeling I get. You have to support each other and I am sure no skater is going to be mad about getting good goaltending 3 times and the hat being all goalies. It's a silly thing anyway, but it can mean something. Maybe some goalies on here can speak to this better, but it seems like it was not the right thing to do, particularly when Wedgie is new to the room and Georgie was probably not too popular. Maybe Wedgie didn't care at all, maybe he just thought "huh", maybe it bothered him. What ulimately matters now is we don't have to think or worry about any of that bs now. This hat thing is being blown way out of proportion.
It's just a recent example of Georgie being maybe a dickhead, so yeah we will be talking about it. I didn't hear about it until this thread. If this happened in October then yes it would be silly to bring it up. But it happened last night.Who knows what parameters they have set in that lockeroom for who gets it. Everyone is just trying to make something out of nothing. It's a big hat. Guarantee no one in that room cares as much as this place does.
Underrated commentNow get nail yakupov back and maybe a lockeroom glue guy to keep all that wood together
I wouldn't call it overrating him, it's just some of us did not want to lose a roster player given all the injury problems this season. Landy's probably not coming back, Val is one strike away, Drouin probably will go out again before the year is up, etc. And I think it's way too early to just give up on Kovy.People really overrate Kovalenko…

It's bizarre
