I have no problem being patient with the young players, but there are players that flash elite talent and there are those that don't.

Of the Hawks young players that I've seen so far, Dach, Boqvist and even Nylander show flashes.
The others I haven't seen it from them yet. It doesn't mean they can't in the future, but right now I question the ceiling on those guys.

IMO, Cat, Strome and Kubalik are what they are. They all have their good qualities and their warts.

If Boqvist is peak Karlsson then everyone on this board should be absolutely ecstatic. If Boqvist is an ok defender but an offensive beast then he’s gucci.

Karlsson has never been durable or good defensively. He was always overrated and bailed out by strong defensive partners. The only reason why he got away with his bs for so long was his skating. Since he can't skate like used to anymore he's just brutal. I actually predicted all of this. Nobody believed me in that trade thread. I was pretty much the only one who called it a disaster for the Sharks. So no. I don't think the Blackhawks want Boqvist to turn into Erik Karlsson 2.0. Especially since Boqvist will never be able to skate like peak Karlsson. Not even close.
