Hayes wants to play. He's cocky like Kreider. Too bad he's not as fast.
The kid is going to take a while to earn what he wants. He's not fast, so he has to refine his overall game.
Hayes should sign with the Rangers. Boston can't do it. New York is close to home, and he's got a New England connection with Gorton and Kreider. More importantly, he can be mentored by two veteran wingers in (don't laugh) Nash and MSL.
Calgary and Florida are losing programs. The Pens are an option, but they have a shoddy record developing players (top-3 picks don't count)
If he signs with the Rangers, he plays one year in Hartford and can work to grab a top-9 spot the following year with all those flight risk UFA/RFA.
Of course, the question is where does he want to go? Hopefully here.
