King Con

-Best game as a hawk. Really looked comfortable especially when he already had the 4 points in the bag.
-Never thought Kurashev was going to be such a giant help to Bedard and turn into a player himself. Glad to be wrong on him.
-Seth Jones with his worst game this year.
-I thought Vlasic was not great early and played well towards the end of the game.
-Entwistle made some plays
-Murphy played one of his best games of the season IMO
-Mrazek is a different goalie this year. Unreal.
-Kucherov and Point are freaks
-Hedman was brutal
-I love Cernak
-Thats still a good team when Vasilevskiy gets back.

Can someone who knows how to do the AI generated pictures please put King Kong in a Bedard jersey on top of the Sears tower or UC? Or just Bedard with a crown on his head. My buddies and I are running with King Con.

I’ll take a wasted Foley over Vosters any evening.

Allow me to clarify my opinion. Foley is a terrific play by play guy and Eddie is a terrific color guy and in fact I think Eddie is the best color guy currently doing games. My problem with the two of them is when it's the two of them - they are cringe worthy when they get to stroking each other which was happening all too often over their past seasons together. I can take only so much bromance before it interferes with my ability to enjoy the broadcast and there's a cumulative effect which ramps up the cringe worthy threshold so most games I was almost waiting for their lounge act to start.

So far Vosters isn't slavering over whoever is sharing the broadcast booth with him, plus I don't really need the play by play guy to "explain" anything to me - I know the game - I just need him to tell me who did what and when. Period. He does that. That's good enough for me.

I don't have a problem with Vosters, at all. He's young and he's learning and he'll get better, probably, if given time. Is he a great hockey announcer? No, not yet. I really don't hear the problem that gives so many of my fellow Hawks fans the vapors. I would 100 times rather listen to Vosters and Pang or Chelios than the Pat & Eddie lounge act.

I can't stand him. His voice, in a vacuum is fine, good even. But he seems like one of those people who thinks they are way funnier than they actually are. As has been already pointed out, he also just doesn't understand the game, which is something I guess I never really even thought of prior to having to listen to him. His lack of understanding of the game is just infuriating. Multiple times after Bedard's first goal last night he called it a "greasy goal". He literally does not understand what a great play that was both by Kurashev to get the puck to him and Bedard for getting position on Hedman to put it in.

Chelios certainly doesn't help Vosters' cause. Both are pretty bad. At least Pang talks a lot when he is the sidekick keeping Vosters' awkward comments down a bit.

And that moustache makes him look very much the dork that he is.

Yeah. The only thing greasy was the fact that both Kurashev and Bedard went to the blue paint and were rewarded but it was a lovely setup and goal.

I gotta say that I'm a bit surprised that Bedard does not shy away from going into the dirty areas and even throwing a body check on occasion. It makes him more of a pleasure to watch, in my mind. I hope he never loses that desire to play the game properly.

I need a summary of what Jones did that was so bad in this game. I'd imagine those who can't stand him would rather point to a game where the Hawks got blown out instead of a Hawks win as being his worst. Even the bar graph didn't hate him in this game.

He also played 31 minutes apparently. Since Tinordi was RD and got hurt Jones played a ton more

Im prob one of Jones biggest defenders. I think hes been great all season. (I didnt see the New Jersey game)

He fumbled the puck all game. He gave up a breakaway from the top of the circles while stick checking a hawk. Took a penalty because a guy split the d. A few turnovers and had zero offense. Kucherov and Point had the puck almost the whole they were on the ice early.

but you go and look at the stat line. Even and played 31 min against big boy lines. Id take that any game this year.

Honestly, I am not really surprised. I have always loved the fact that he has some jam to his game. In juniors, he would not only be physical but be yapping at opponents and getting under their skin.

Credit to Vosters, he got a chuckle out of me with his "Ole what's his name" comment about Kucherov in the third after the game Bedard was having.

The delivery wasn't great but hopefully he loosens up and starts finding his voice...quickly for all of our sakes.

Wait till he's more established in the league and stronger as he gets older. He was just like this in juniors, in fact.. he talked more shit on the ice than he's doing now so far (which is understandable as a rookie).

Was fortunate enough to be at this game with great seats and free beer.

Condog's best game yet IMO. He seemed very comfortable out there. That pass to Foligno on his second goal was so sweet.

Watching Kuch in warm-ups is a treat in and of itself. Great night. Not having to listen to Vosters was the cherry on top.

When Hall gave him the gold chain in the locker room last night he called him Bedsy, exactly what I didn’t want to hear! Even Bedzo would have been better.

Yeah, that's the part that seems to get overlooked. Seth plays big minutes and often against the other team's best. If the team had to absorb those minutes without Seth in the line-up they would be much worse than what they already are. As well, Hawks forwards are mostly terrible helping out defensively which puts more pressure on our back end - makes them look worse than what they actually are. In last nights game the slot was open all night. That needs to get fixed and fast.
