Seems he was on to something
Yep, he was onto having a top5 worst defense every year, and now the Leafs have been top5 defensively ever since Holl moved onto the top shutdown pairing.
Holl isn't the only reason we're better now, but he's been a quality defenseman and a solid part of our matchup pairing for a while now. Babcock irrationally sitting him to play the likes of ancient Hainsey, Zaitsev, Ozhiganov, and Marincin certainly didn't help anything.Yes, Holl is the reason lol.
Yes, Holl is the reason lol. Maybe it has to do with the team, particularly the forwards, being more committed to the defensive side of the game which is easy to see for anyone.
Correlation =/ causation
Yep, always been the caseHoll can make some bonehead plays. If he played 10-15 minutes a night I wouldn’t have an issue with him. He’s actually decent until he gets fatigued around his 4th shift. He’s just not a top 4. He’s 6th or 7th depth.
This will be the case until he's gone and then the next player is the one they can't play without......rinse/repeat.Yes, Holl is the reason lol. Maybe it has to do with the team, particularly the forwards, being more committed to the defensive side of the game which is easy to see for anyone.

Don't give that user attention. Just another user trying to take credit away from Dubas, and trying to say that a person who was against Dubas was wrong.Yep, he was onto having a top5 worst defense every year, and now the Leafs have been top5 defensively ever since Holl moved onto the top shutdown pairing.
Looks like Babcock was on to the wrong things.Holl isn't the only reason we're better now, but he's been a quality defenseman and a solid part of our matchup pairing for a while now. Yeah we probably need to sign maricin back I wonder where he’s playing now I haven’t seen him in any games..Seems he was on to something
yeah the whole team instantly learned how to play defense for the first time in 4 years, the very instant Babcock left.
Babs is an idiot and I dont say things like that lightly. I still shake my head and get annoyed thinking of how he dealt with Spezza for his first game as a leaf. I could go on and on as we have done to death here already. All coaches have blind spots but "mr. (3rd person) i bet on babcock everytime" is up there for most unlikable leaf of all time for me.Looks like Babcock was on to the wrong things.
One of the many things was Nylander isn't very good. Thats a huge miss in a long list of misses by Babcock.
I injuries are piling up which means the boys are playing a more physical style of Hockey. Love it.
This will better prepare them for the playoff grind.

I liked this one
Yeah I can't imagine anyone wanting that guy back.Yeah we probably need to sign maricin back I wonder where he’s playing now I haven’t seen him in any games..
Not that Babcock wasn't an idiot but that's more than likely an assistant running that.My favourite thing with Babcock was playing Hainsey the full two minutes on the PK for absolutely no reason. Even in overtime.
Other teams with far worse d-corps never launched the same player for the entire PK - but Babcock because he is some genius thought that was a good strategy. As if Hainsey was otherworldly.
