And it could have been just a bad game. Actually Marty played pretty well in the first period.

As for Talbot--I think you've got a goalie of about the same kind of capability as Biron--only younger. And I'm kind of LOL'ing at some of the people here as for the past season and a half anyway when the prospects polls were being done I was pushing Talbot it seems a long time before he actually got annointed usually towards the bottom teens. People didn't want to hear about goalies. Goalies don't score goals and we've got Henrik--why do we need another goalie anyway?

Organizationally it makes sense to bring along Talbot--just getting younger bodies the NHL experience but at this point I think it would be kind of classless to dump Biron without giving him at least another couple shots.

I think Cam Talbot has average/journeyman NHL starter potential. Having watched him last year in Hartford, through the exhibition schedule and the early part of this season, I think he's better than Biron right now.

Same here. Biron's game has been slipping since his first season here. I could have stopped St. Louis' 4th goal. Just brutal, and a real back breaker.

Ever since those wide open 5 hole goals he was giving up last year in shootouts, I have been saying this guy has to go. He is old and has outlived his backup role hear. With Henrik
Playing almost every game last year in a short season it was not a big deal but now if you are talking about a backup getting 15-20 games it is imperative to get this guy out of here.

As much as I like the guy Birons done, he's a small guy and used to make up for that with his quickness and he seams to have lost that, as good as he is in the room it needs to be done and it could serve as a wake up call to the rest of the team

Might as well give talbot a shot, as it looks right now with biron in net its basically a loss barring some kind of unconventional rangers offensive outburst, throw talbot in there when need be and see how it goes

Biron and Dorsett tag teamed to cost the team a win. Would prefer if both are gone for the capitals game, but Biron is a good start

I actually think Bryz would be a good backup and I would very much want to hear him in a between periods interview talking about cosmonaut bears and the universe

I actually think you a right. That is what this team is missing. And at worst when this team is out of the playoff chase by Christmas then it will give us something else to listen to instead of how bad we are or how much we are improving because in the month of January out goals against average has dropped from 5.5 to 4.8.

How much would a Bryzgalov cost us? And would he be fine with being a backup?

What we also need to remember in the backup talks is that if Hank were to go down with an injury, we need a backup that wouldn't **** his own leg on a regular basis.

If we're moving for a backup goaltender, I would ask for Fasth or Andersen out of Anaheim.

Both have starter potential. And, we happen to have a goaltender in his contract year who hasn't signed.

I agree but Bryzgalov is a better option than either of those guys, plus if he does play well we would have something that resembles a starting goalie if Hank decides to leave.

Why pay for something when you can get something of equal value for free?

Yea our backup goalie slated to play ~15 games is the real problem on this team.

Why are people even mentioning Bryz? I'm praying it's just jokes or kicking hypothetical tires. All I see on here recently is how we should let Hank walk if he wants 8mil, but now Bryz is a viable, financially sound backup option..? In what world? :help: We barely want to see a 4th line guy like Boyle get the money he gets, or Biron the money he gets. But Bryz @ any figure above 2mil as a backup is alright with the lot of you?

If he couldn't handle Philly, yall really think he would be okay in NY? Please.

Biron played like **** in the 2nd period last night but if the Rangers were off to a decent start we might not even have this thread. Basically this is a bit of scapegoating IMO. Being a backup goalie on a struggling team makes you a very easy target--and it's not like Henrik has been playing all that well either.

Cam Talbot is essentially the same goalie he was last year and a lot of posters here thought he was a bum then--now? not so much. Could he backup? I think so--but put him in once every five games and he's probably going to be rusty now and again too.

I agree 100%.
I like the guy, but he stays or he goes is not what will make or break this team. There are more pressing problems that need addressing first.

What if we could get him 1 yr @ 1.0 - 1.5 range? Low risk hi reward move in my opinion. I'm not saying it's going to fix all the problems but it will solve one problem and that is poor depth at the goaltender position.

There's a thread on the Trade Rumors board about the Blues possibly moving Elliott. His cap hit is $.5-million higher than Biron's.

Bryzgalov wants starter job, waits on EDM or whoever.
Biron is terrible, but if King stays the way he is, we are done with any backup.
Talbot is a good solution, but only if we need a backup. I don't think we do. Hank will stay in net for good. Or for bad (hope not!).
