Also a special mention is deserved for Brodzinski. This guy last season looked like an ECHLer in his NHL time. This season he’s gotten better and better and he looks like a legitimate NHLer at this point. Good for him. Not saying he will stick or should stick considering our depth or anything but good for him he’s improved his game that much he’s really not a bad option as your 2nd or 3rd healthy scratch.

He did say it. I heard it and was like WTF.
Unreal. Did he get any pushback from anyone when he said that? Considering the talk about Shesterkin you’d think even the most inattentive analyst would still assume they were NOT giving up a lot of goals even without looking. Jeez. That’s just brutal.

That’s literally akin him saying Toronto or Florida has trouble scoring goals.

I think Rooney is gone next year and wouldn't mind Brod getting a shot at that role. I think we just re-upped him for two years super cheap so he would be a great cost effective replacement imo.

Awesome game from the boys. Glad to see Gallant sat Braun.

No, nobody said anything.

I really love Motte as a bottom six guy. Good PKer, he has great wheels and he has enough skill he’s never out of place. He’s kind of like a Goodrow-lite type player with better speed.

I’m actually surprised he’s not a player than Tampa would’ve tried to trade for considering he only went for a 4th. Seems like the type of under the radar grinder they would target.

Love Copp. Kind of plays like a bigger, more physical, but less skilled Stepan. Not very fast, but super high hockey IQ and always makes the right play. Not sure he’s a perfect fit with Panarin and Strome but they had a good game.

Vatrano looked surprisingly good on the first line. Chytil and lafreniere were great together. Like Reeves but lineup is prob better without him most games. When all healthy could see something like:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano
Panarin-Strome-Kakko
Laf-Chytil-Copp
Goodrow-Rooney-Mott

That’s a cup contending forward group. Outside of Nemeth, there really aren’t any holes on the team…
If Copp can give Panarin someone to finish his passes, keep him where he is. I mean, what is the time line for Kakko and Rooney's return anyway? I would not mind a reunion of the kid line so long Gallant is willing to give them the ice time they deserve. Laf->Kakko last year was a thing of beauty. Those three need to go earn that ice time but Gallant can't be an ass hat and cut their ice time "because he wants to run 3 lines" when they are playing their best hockey. But yeah, I could go either way.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano
Panarin-Strome-Copp
Laf-Chytil-Kakko
Goodrow-Rooney-Mott

Pittsburgh is the best possible 1st round match up for this team. Two games in a row against them that I feel the Rangers absolutely dominated.

Washington would be ok but you just know the series is going to go 7.

Carolina would be a disaster.
A series with Pittsburgh also wouldn't be as physical. Even if we beat the Caps, they are taking a pound of flesh.

Kreider’s snap shot is so good in tight that it’s virtually unstoppable when he shoots low blocker.

I really think he’s going to be really close to breaking the single seasaon Rangers record. 10 more goals in 17 games? Sounds reasonable considering his play this season.
That would be a really cool feather in his cap especially doing it in this era of hockey.

I don't even know who to vote for, honestly. Sure Zib had a sick points night, Shesty was solid, etc etc, but that might be the best team game we've played all year. I didn't even want to kill Nemeth!

SOLID team win. We do that every night and we win cups.
