You can be doing all the right things, but those things can be just half or 3/4 of what you could be doing. How about some stuff-in goals, some jam plays, some screens, some gamesmanship-type plays to get in the goalie's head?
They do those things. Those are also reflected in the analytics. They're just not getting rewarded for them yet.
Again, when those things don't result in goals it's easy to think "well they're just not doing them enough!" and not notice the number of times guys are getting rebounds, creating screens, tips, stuff ins, and it just not result in a goal.
When the puck starts going in suddenly it's finally they're doing it right! even if nothing changed
