Best sniper + playmaker combination in one player

If Datsyuk shot the puck more I would say him. See his snipe goals against Anaheim and Chicago in the 2013 Playoffs for example. But he always wants to pass the puck.

Sid's probably the most balanced, along with Geno, and OV is a really underrated playmaker. And for all the flack he gets from Leafs-haters, Kessel is also another guy that balances sniping and playmaking pretty well. Tavares too.

Malkin certainly comes to mind. Crosby should come to mind, ever since he decided to work on his shot and become a top tier goal-scoring threat as well.

But they're both old and slowing down to various degrees, so at the current moment, Leon Draisaitl is the guy who comes to mind first for me. He can absolutely score from pretty much anywhere...and he's also a silky passer when he's not just doing more of the goal-scoring end of things.

I’m just going to say Joe sakic just be different and random and also have slight merit
Yeah didn't realize this thread was from 2015 but if you're not talking present day players Joe Sakic would be my pick as well. Legit top line center playmaking, and not flashy like some other guys but always had a top 3 snap/wrist shot in the league in any given season.

I mean in his last good full season at age 37 he scored 82-36-64-100. That was Malkin's rookie year actually.
