Using @wetcoast logic, Thornton had a rough start of the year in 2006-07(41-11-39-50 -3) but then out scored Crosby the last half of the year(41-11-53-64 +27) to Crosby who wasSo he wasn't nearly as good as Joe in 06 and barely outscored him the following year and didn't even have a stronger playoff either. Make it make sense for Crosby to get the nod here in light of all the other situations where that would be ignored as merely being a "best season" with the established best player still being considered the best. Over half his points were on the PP no less.
43-17-41-58 -6. Using the same logic he’s been pushing against Kane, Thornton was actually the better player in 2007, despite finishing only 7 points behind Crosby.
