I don't know why Canada uses black on their uniforms. Ruins them IMO. I know other countries use colors that aren't on their flag (Italy, Netherlands) but they've always done that and have historic reasons for doing so.

Anyway, I've always liked Chinese Taipei's jerseys.

UAE's are pretty cool too

I couldn't disagree with you more. :D

1) black+red/white goes together perfectly. Definitely one of the most powerful and aesthetically pleasing colour combinations.
2) Taipei's jerseys contain one of the biggest no-no's in design - a bright red/blue combination without any separating lines in a different colour. Ugly, ugly, ugly. The Olympic rings only make it worse.

Also, to one of the previous posters - 70 quid is a completely standard price for a hockey jersey. Replica shirts are, of course, 2 to 3 times cheaper. But those are no real hockey jerseys.

They have senior national team's game worn jerseys for sale for £100 and junior national team game worn jerseys for £40. So 70 for replica is just waste of money when you can get a real thing much cheaper.

I didnt like their politics but the old red army and soviet union uniforms were cool.

Pretty sure they said that the actual jersey cost 70 pounds.

I love Finland's blue jerseys, the blue and white combo looks really good. I also was always a huge fan of the Team Canada red jerseys from the Canada Cup era, the half-maple leaf. Team USA's 1980 Miracle on Ice jerseys are great, especially the dark blues.

I like Sweden's jerseys, but would prefer the style used in the early 80's, like this Pelle Lindbergh jersey. Not the logo though, I'd want to use the current triple crowns logo, but the basic design of this older jersey, I like the blue shoulder part that was used back then. The current issue is a bit too yellow and need a little bit more blue for my liking.

Since that mark is over 200 years old it would probably be the other way around, unless those rednecks were driving horse-wagons??

a) the flame decal graphics are very redneck, and non-traditional

b) the mark is like 800 years old, but the one used on the jersey isn't the official one. It has added depth and shading and is just an ugly version.

Totally agree! HATE the use of black in Canada's uniforms. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why they are using black other than they think it adds to the look.

They should stick to the colors of their flag and if they want to add a different color it should have some sort of historic/symbolic relevance.

When did Canada start adding black? Did it coincide with every other sports team in North America deciding to add a black jersey, sometime in the early 90s?

That is correct. The '96 World Cup was the first time they added black I believe.

Personally I thought their red/white/blue look was far superior as well, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a simple red and white look. Not sure why people think black still looks good. It's almost 2014, that fad passed long ago.

Those are pure gold there. Spain especially looks amazing. Netherlands lion is cool or too modern, can't decide. Anyways that orange sea is always great sight in football games. Would not mind to see it in hockey.

Though like many others, I have to go for the Germany's jersey. For reasons I don't know I had Germany's football jersey in my locker as a kid and ever since loved those black jerseysw.
