Bell Media Exploring Sale of Tsn

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I hope we won’t have to susbribe to 2-3 things to get to watch every games and every teams. I’m scared that Havs will go on crave. I don’t want to subscribe to crave AND amazon.

It'll be switching to Amazon soon enough.

If I'm not mistaken, RDS games will be shown there, right ? If that's the case, I know I'll cancel cable, RDS is the only thing keeping me there, and I've been on Prime for years now.

Anyone with a wife and/or a baby already pays for Prime.
I have Prime and they used to show plenty of good series and now quite a few of them have moved to Paramount plus and other streaming services which charge another monthly fee. I can see them offering a regional package for hockey that is included with Prime but charging extra for National and league-wide broadcasts. The quality is so good that I might not mind the extra charges if it ends up being the case.

They don’t have the big bad insecure Leafs telling people to blackout the games…
We get the Senator's broadcasts as well, not that anyone cares.

not really , they USED to. then they realized it's 100$ or so a year for shit you don't need and impulsive buying. Prime itself is awful, free with commercials.. pay to download it for offline.. pay for better quality. Dumped our household prime a year ago, could care less. Half our friends ditched it for the same reasons.

I think it means you don’t understand what free is?
Well, there's cable subscriptions which you pay for anyway... and then there's things like Center Ice. Which is an additional charge.

Right now for example, Amazon Prime is showing free games on Monday. Awesome. But it won't surprise me at all if they wind up securing some deal with the NHL and you have to pay extra to watch it.

Get it now?

I don't see a buyer for tsn itself. If it's not bell or rogers, who really has the resources to keep it going?

It would be more likely in my opinion that someone buys tsn's assets and licenses..... maybe a digital provider like Amazon who I think would love to add to their sports catalogue.

In that scenario, tsn just dissolves, which is kind of sad given that they were pioneers for all sports coverage in this nation.
