I think I mentioned in an unrelated thread that I'm completely over the "shove as many hops as you can get into a bottle" fad but I do like some IPA's. This one kicks ass:

BTW... this was awesome last year. The guy who post here from Four Son's was at the last one and that's the only time I had their beer. It was good too.

The irony is not only how much hops sculpin uses... But the rediculous variety it uses as well.
God damn good though I'll give you that.

Surprised hadn't seen Sierra Nevada Torpedo posted here. Also, their Blindfold. As for So-Cal local IPAs, Left Coast Hop Juice.

Lagunitas Little Somethin' Somethin' is also good. That's pretty hoppy as well. I do like hops but some of the west coast IPA's are completely overboard.

For anyone near or in Long Beach, Alex's Bar is now selling Mammoth Lakes Brewery 395 IPA. That might be one of my favorite IPA's. I really hope their beers start to become more available down here because they make some good ones.

Here is another favorite of mine:

GOD DAMN IT SIERRA NEVEDA! SELL ME BLINDFOLD IN 6 OR 12 PACKS!
That stuff is really good. Most Black IPAs use dark malts that add little to nothing in flavor, and border on novelty. I likes me some dark malt... Blindfold has a nice subtle dark malt base that works real good with the hops. You can only get this in bottles with their 4 way pack yeah?

I wish I liked Saisons, because I just lost my temperature controlled fermentation chamber in my move (well moving to smaller place with no room for extra frige) and it would be nice if I was supposed to ferment at socal summer temps

I almost liked Tattered Price from bottle logic in Aneheim by the time I got to the bottom of the glass in my flight... I could maybe do more of that one

The original was probably my favorite stone beer. I don't really see this as a replacement for it, if they had both I would probably buy them at both at different times...
But this IS probably better. While not as intense, the hops remind me of enjoy by.

Had Stone points unknown DIPA last night and it is good. Double ipa mixed with Belgian tripel. It will get you wasted too!
