For sure but this was coming from a ton of Chicago fans that supposedly watched every game. Seems to me he is passing way more often than he shoots, I would be a little more selfish if I were him..
Wasn't all that crazy given the talent around him to think that he would continue creating and finishing his own chances at a higher rate than his teammates would finish the chances he created for them. Still isn't crazy, really, and it's nothing to do with him as a playmaker. If he weren't in a little shooting slump (2G on 36 shots in his last ten games) he would still have more goals than assists

Teams tend to overplay the shit out of him because he’s the only decent player. Does leave him with tons of passing lanes to open guys.

I’m still surprised they haven’t figured out how to get him scoring on the powerplay yet. Still hasn’t moved to the right side I take it?

I don't think Bedard gets enough recognition for how well-rounded he is offensively. With the lack of passing options he has, teams have pretty much taken his shooting lanes away entirely yet he continues to produce at almost a point per game clip. His offensive IQ and ability to manipulate opposing dmen is so special.

It's easy to forget that he's the youngest player in the league with how he carries himself. Once he gets older and more comfortable on a better team we'll start to see more of the highlight reel plays get mixed in and his numbers will skyrocket.

They only moved him to the right when Seth Jones went out. The power play is an absolute disaster.
im no coach but if they stack 4 guys at the blue line skating in is very tough. Any idea why they dont just get all 5 guys moving forward quickly and dump it in. when they dump it in now all the hawks are standing still at the blue line. the first guy back is the other team. you hate to dump and chase but that would better then what is happening now.

Your guess is as good as mine. It's the common sense solution. The entire power play is just a disaster top to bottom.

I'm just happy they don't have 4 other guys shooting from the right side on the pp with him at this point.

Wild fans on the main boards are irate that Bedard's on track to win the Calder. Many of them are actually telling themselves that Faber is the better rookie and the only reason he won't win the Calder is due to voters putting too much stock into points.

And on the subject of some thinking a certain player is better than Bedard, Michkov has 26pts in 30 games in the KHL. Bedard has 28pts in 31 games in the NHL. Similar point totals, vastly different leagues. For further comparisons, Carlsson has 15pts in 22 games, Fantilli has 19 in 33, and Benson has 11 in 23.

Bedard is the best rookie this season and easily outpacing his fellow 2023 draftees so far.

Historically if Bedard puts up 70+ points on this AHL squad there's no way he doesn't win the Calder. If Faber can put up 45+ points while defending at a high level then he should make it a race but it's certainly Bedard's to lose.

Wild fans aren't wrong that points are everything in voters eyes. Calder and Hart are very points biased. I dont think he's eligible but Alex Vlasic could be prime Hedman defensively for the rest of the year and have as much of an impact on the team as CB but he wouldn't sniff any votes because of his lower production.

Faber has been unreal to be fair. I think it’s Bedards to lose … because it is, but I understand them wanting Faber to get his flowers.

Here’s the thing for me(and of course you’d never dare see this mentioned whatsoever by any of these biased Bedard haters/Wild fans on the main boards):

Bedard’s production/current pt total is DRAMATICALLY reduced because of the lack of support around him, including the inept PP, his 5v5 linemates, the overall team around him, etc.

If he were playing with say McTavish, Terry, Killorn, Zegras, Mintyukov, Drysdale, Strome, Henrique, Fowler, etc….or if he were playing with Kaprizov, Boldy, Zuccarello, Eriksson-Ek, Brodin, Middleton, Hartman, the other Foligno, etc….

….he’d be somewhere in the 40’s with his point totals.

He’d be so far and ahead of everyone else there would only be one race and that would be for 2nd place.

Truth is they’re really only making a case for Faber because in the one game they played us Bedard happened to have an off-night/played poorly so now ya know that one game is the be all end all and it forever defines Bedards overall performance(according to them)….thus Faber is clearly the better player. Obviously.

Just like how he was a bust because Fleury tripped him on his penalty shot in pre season.
