Not to mention the rule of thumb in some draft pick valuations that for every year down the road a pick is, the value is approximately one round lower. So a 2025 2nd may be valued around a 2024 3rd. (Reflecting the extra year a player is within the team's control and the 'unknowns' inherent in future years' drafts.)

Malenstyn + for Mangiapane. 43rd overall this year is significantly more valuable than a late 2nd next year.

I'm bummed to see Malenstyn go, he's really the prototypical 4th line winger, was key to their amazing 4th line this year, and I think they're gonna need the 4th line to carry the same herculean load again this year. Can't argue with the value though.

I’m sad. Beck was one of my favorite players that have come through Hershey over the past few years. A genuinely solid dude, great in the locker room and just a high compete level. That said, I understand you can’t pass up that kind of value for a 4th line player. Just sucks
