I predicted Kivi, Woods and Caleb last year but I got nothing this year. Suter I can see, if he signs super cheap. Today is pretty bonkers.

Kiviranta probably doesn't need a raise either, he's just happy if he gets a 1-way deal considering he didn't get a contract from the Avs at first and had to fight his way up through the Eagles.

So the Avs spent a 1st round pick (Walker) and 2 3rds (Trenin and Duhaime) for rentals who didn't really do much and who signed elsewhere today (plus spent next year's 2nd on Lars Eller in 2023).

I'm having a sad.

The 1st round pick was as much about dumping RyJo as it was adding Walker.


But also yes, this is the reality of being a contender and buying UFA rentals. Surely you didn't think we were going to re-sign any of these guys right?
