So, what does everyone want at this point
I think the scenario I most want is.
- Small trade down from #1
- Draft Daniels with pick we swap out for #1
- Draft one of Nabers/Coleman/Odunze with Bears pick
- Trade Fields for pick
What is your definition of a small trade down? Assuming top 7 draft order remains the same (as the Jets play NE, thus if Jets win they will draft later than 8).
Does NE covet either Williams/Maye to get in front of Wash? That to me is a small trade down. Treat it like you are netting out what Mia did from 3 to 12 then up to 6 to get Waddle that year. Ended up with 1 extra 1st round pick.
Above makes sense, if you want first shot at any non QB player, then you don't trade behind AZ at 4.
If you are ok with passing up any of Harrison JR, Fashuma, Alt (the top WR and the 2 OT), then you can go back further from the Giants at 5 onwards to get a Haul. The edge rushers from UCLA, FSU, Alabama will begin coming off the board closer to 8-10 and gone by the early teens.
Does it really make sense to keep Fields and draft a QB in round 1? I guess you can, but I think it's better to pull off the bandaid and commit one way or the other.
If everything remains as is, I see the draft going:
1) Williams/Maye (Bears or a trade up)
2) Was takes Williams/Maye
3) NE takes Daniels (or they trade up if they covet one of the other 2 guys). Chicago in this spot takes MHJ
4) AZ take Harrison JR (if he's off the board, take OT and bookend the tackles for Murray). Get WR with Houston's pick, since he doesn't like to get hit).
5) NYG I fear 2 ACL Penix on that MetLife turf, so they take Fashuma since Neal looks terrible at OT. (If Daniels fall to them, they take him)
6) LAC - Alt, bookend the OL for Herbert.
7) Ten - Ozdume, weapon for Levis.
6/7 can flip players, but I think that's how the top 7 shake down. From what I have seen online these 2 OT grade behind Sewell but well ahead of the trio in 2022 and ahead of Johnston from OSU.
