They scored 17 against the Browns in a loss, you were casting aspersions on their wins. You’re correct that I misremembered the score of the Vikings game.

Sure context matters, and for context they were losing every game last year against both good and bad teams. And no one’s saying it’s a finished product.
The offense scored one TD against the Browns, and that offensive drive started on the 1 yard line after an EJax interception. The other TD was an Edmunds pick 6.

As I said, the discussion TLEH began was about the offense’s performance in wins, not losses.

I was just talking offensive production in the Browns game. Was a pick 6 so I took it off. We didn't do that for all the games so I shouldn't have.

I think there are valid questions to be asked when you look at the QB play in the games that they won. They basically beat Jared Goff, Kyler Murray, and then a bunch of nothing/backups.

Also everyone is so quick to dump on Getsy (not sure of your specific stance on him) but if you're bringing back Flus and Fields, are you really about to make Fields learn another offense in year 4? It just doesn't make sense.

I think the defense has been good against the competition they've had since the Sweat trade. I would have loved to see them against some stronger competition later in the season, but they've been good again the Lions twice, good against the Browns for 3 quarters (and let's be honest, got no help at all from the offense), and good against bad teams.

The offense has been extremely inconsistent. I'm much more worried about that.

I think the defense is definitely good, but I also think they don't rush the passer well enough yet to be good against the top QBs in the league.

Plenty of rushers in FA this year, surprisingly. Money to spend there if they don't have to pay a QB for the next 4 years. Need Dexter to keep getting better in the middle for some interior pressure, but if that happens they should be in a good spot.

Obviously some good players should be available around the Bears pick in the draft too.

They’re 7-5 in their last 12, and played Detroit tough twice. With two top ten picks this year, another next year if they trade down + their own first next year, and likely 4 2nd’s in the next two years if they trade down, + fa acquisitions, the Bears could be stacked.

Assuming you're looking at someone like Davenport

They no doubt had a solid finish to the season. The underlying numbers on offense aren't good. They're actually awful. My fear is that we are going to keep everyone because of results against iffy competition and then come out in 2024-2025 and sputter again against teams that are even just average and be in a situation without an obvious solution.

They could make a splash with someone like Hunter, honestly. Huff, Young (I'm meh on him, but still). Plenty there this year.

Davenport is just a walking injury at this point.
Yeah he's been great when healthy though. Whenever that is lol.

Hunter would be awesome. I'm not big on Young.

Rod Moore is someone the Bears should be looking at as potential Safety pick if we can acquire a 2nd round pick back.

I assume he will enter draft and will go early in 2nd round maybe even at end of 1st

I'm really low on Young. I wouldn't give him more than Ngakoue got. But he's a big name and will command some attention. Hunter would be crazy, and not paying a QB DOES allow for a big splash like that.

Or they could throw $30M per year at Chris Jones for 3 years and put Who Cares at edge.

This is a boring game. Waaaay too many commercials.

Dallas Turner has been pretty invisible outside of that one reverse play.

I would think college HC first. Like going to coach Indiana or Maryland or something like that.

Actually looked like Fields on that.

How many NFL players do we think are playing in this game?

Considering its Alabama vs Michigan there will be alot

Bama will likely have 4 guys in top 20 of draft

EDGE Dallas Turner
T JC Latham
CB Terrion Arnold
CB Kool-Aid McKinstry

Turner is solid and JC Lathan has a huge ceiling. McKinstry and Arnold have been around a while, all depends on where they go in the draft I guess
