If Bears go QB they should go with one of these options

Maye or McCarthy or Nix

Obviously with McCarthy/Nix you trade down (Or potentially trade back into 1st round depending on how things go)

If the bears land in the top 2 they’ll take Williams or Maye, don’t even bother talking about anyone else. Then hope the second pick lands 3 or 4 so they can get MHJ or fashanu

Bagent to likely start vs the Chargers too. Tyson did good with the few throws he needed but they really just ran and screened down field. If the Chargers are smart, they'll stack the box most plays

I think Bagent will have no problem completing passes 30 yards downfield.

On Bo Nix

1. You don’t draft nfl players purely on college statistics. He’s been playing decent this year, but come on he’s not a legit nfl prospect. Not elite arm talent, not that athletic. Looked like shit at Auburn.
2. He’ll be 24 by draft time, not all that projectable, and played 50+ games in college before he even remotely looked decent.

Caleb Williams certainly hasn’t been great. His body language and interviews also haven’t been great. I could see those giving people some red flags. I personally have changed my opinion on him in the past couple weeks. More due to the stuff you see of him on the sidelines during adversity than his play directly, though.

Still think he’s the most projectable of all the prospects at QB. I think people also heavily overrated that USC team because they are not that good. Doesn’t help him.

Being picky, but if you're going to say 30 pts, seems you ought to give credit to the 39yd JJ interception return which was obvioulsy over 20yd.

Statistically the Chargers have a very good run/very poor pass defense. So game plan may need to be tweaked appropriately from the Raiders game plan. Hopefully Bosa and Mack don't get a chance to T-off on Bagent too much.

And since it has come out that Williams wants an ownership stake in any team that drafts him likely has lowered his value by a lot I would hope.

That isn't even a thing allowed in contracts. Its not real. Maybe his idiot dad said it. Lavar Ball-esque.

Plenty of red flags with his behavior though. Ill agree there.

It didn't "come out." One of the worst NFL "reporters" reiterated an unsubstantiated report based on bloviating by Caleb Williams's father during the summer. There is as much substance to that rumor as there is to the one about Williams having a list of teams he will accept being drafted by, which included the freaking Raiders.

I'm cooling a bit on Williams. His time to throw is still very high, even now that his play style isn't working as well. I think he has the ability to throw the ball quickly to receivers, but his game is so far away from that right now, and I'm not sure he'll fix it. He's playing hero ball all the time, and I don't know if that's just the game plan, or if it's jut Williams.

For what it's worth, JJ McCarthy's time to throw is also over 3 seconds this season.

Maye's stats against top 25 defenses is worse than Williams. His stats so far this season aren't super impressive, but his team is also probably the worst of any likely top QBs in the draft.

Penix and Nix both worry me because I'm wary about players who just spend enough time in college that they figure out how to play against college players.

All QB prospects have pretty obvious flaws. Then again, so does Fields.

Williams on field tape is really good. His tools are what get me excited. The off field/sideline stuff has really put me off.

Penix arm strength is worst of all the QB's near top of draft and his deep balls often are wounded ducks.

I can't see him succeeding in NFL with his limitations.

Raiders Defense ranked 10

Chargers defense ranked 31

One more full week of practice for Bagent and Bears. I'm not worried.

Wanny says that if Bagent has a big game against the Chargers - he would consider listening to offers for Fields. He didn't say this was likely - but if it happens.

Atlanta keeps coming up as a possible eventual destination. He is from Georgia, they need a QB and otherwise have a pretty solid team.

That would be incredibly stupid and short sided, imo. You don't based roster decisions on two games.
