The nfl is such a joke flexing Detroit to Sunday night. If Seattle wins the lions have nothing to play for. Doing everything they can to help Green Bay

And here's another thought. If the Colts lose and the Bears lose and we get the #1 pick. You'd have to think the Bears likely will shop the pick.

And who is potentially the most likely team they would trade with? I'll go with the Colts. They badly need a QB. If they lose, they will pick 5th.

That to me is the perfect place to move down. What could you get...the 5th pick, plus their 24 1st rounder? More maybe? Maybe add a 2nd or 3rd rounder?

And I'll add in...if you really want to rack up the picks, you could trade down further from there.

Ideally the Seahawks since they have two 1st round picks this year and the Bears can just drop to 3rd overall and have the 19th-22nd pick as well but no idea how the Seahawks feel about Geno Smith (or if they would draft a QB with that pick). But they definitely would think about it. 32 year old Geno Smith is a stop gap, nothing more. Plus, he's an upcoming UFA.

My dream is multiple trades down. 1 to 2, 2 to 5-7. If I’m trading 1 or 2 to 5-7 I want next years first and a second this year. That second is so high could probably move down in the second. and pick up a third. Would be nice to have 5 picks in the top 75 or so

Titans are another team to potentially watch

New GM who doesn't seem to be fan of Willis (Who looked awful) and Tannehill is about to turn 35

If Bears are willing to go down pretty heavy in this draft, they could get future haul from Titans of multiple additional 1st round picks

The Titans will not trade up for a QB. I'm also a Titan fan and can say that their O-line and WR corp (with the exception of Burks) is actually worse than the Bears . Hard to believe, but I watch both teams every Sunday, Expecting Willis to do anything as a rookie behind that O-line is silly. They may re-work RT's contract and sign a better back up or hope an off season with personnel improvements will help Willis. Their offense is far too abysmal to be trading picks to get a QB. fwiw - they lead the league in 3 and outs and are the worst 2nd half scoring team in the NFL (5.7 pts).

"They" in this case, and in general, is Sam Mustipher. He consistently has trouble picking up blitzes; leaving Jenkins and Reif(?) to block three rushers while he helps CW double team one guy. Bears must improve the center position this off season and I'm not sure Patrick is the answer either.

If we land the #1 pick, you'd demand a lot more than just one extra 1st rounder to trade down to #5.

Recently read an article about 10 teams that will be hot to get a QB. It noted 2 of those teams would be interested in the Kentucky guy (Levis?).
If we lose and the Texans win, here is my wet dream.
TRADE 1
#1 to Houston for #2, #12 and a 2nd (34) (They pay it to keep someone from jumping over them).
TRADE 2
#2 to Seattle for #3, #19 and a 2nd (51)
TRADE 3
#3 to Carolina for #9, a 1st next year and a 2nd (41)

So that gives picks 9, 12, 19, 34, 41, 51, 56 and 63.

Trade#1 is only viable if there is another team bidding on jumping ahead of Houston at #2 - otherwise Houston just picks their QB at #2 because they know the Bears aren't going to take a QB.

Trade#2 is only viable if Seattle wants a QB still available after Houston takes the first QB off the board.

Not saying your scenario isn't possible but it's probably not likely.

The bears traded up from 2-3 knowing San Fran wasn’t taking a qb. You aren’t getting a 1 from Houston but they very well could trade from 2 to 1 for a couple of mid round picks if they are super set on a qb. You’d have weigh that against other offers for 1 of course factoring in what you could get for #2

Gotta wonder whether Poles is working for the Bears or rather secretly for Pittsburgh instead. Because he not only let a 25-yr old James Daniels (0 sacks given up in 2022) walk over 8.3mil/yr in favor of his often-injured new toy Lucas Patrick and semi-injured 30-yr old 12mil/yr Cody Whitehair (4 sacks alllowed), he also gifted Pittsburgh a now very very high 2nd-rounder for injury-prone non-factor in Chase Claypool.

Daniels not only has the best contract value on the Steelers' OL, he is also a fast learner of a new scheme, as well as becoming a best leader who "elevates the whole OL":

Yet that kind of homegrown talent doesn't fit Poles' idea of the type of O-linemen he wants. Instead, that tweet above is the kind of OL Poles puts out on the field. And he was an O-lineman himself?!

When Poles isn't wasting higher round (2nd or 3rd) picks on questionable receiving non-talent (Claypool, Velus Jones), he dumpster-dives for castoffs like Pringle, Harry, or that ex-Vikes guy who wouldn't get out of bounds, as well as the likes of Alex Leatherwood.
