Very sad that AZ and DEN lost their close games, so if we win next week we could still drop to #4. On the plus side, NO upset PHI, so if the Vikings beat the Packers then the Vikings won’t rest their starters because they’ll be able to potentially get the 1st round bye.

He absolutely shouldn’t play next week
But of course, he's going to play, because the Bears are a dumpster fire of an organization. The Bears that have been tanking/rebuilding for almost forty years and have won three playoff games this century and none in the last 12 years.

But hey they're tanking so they're going to turn everything around next season. It's always next season or the next couple they'll be better. But they never are. Playing your only real asset in meaningless games sounds like continued brilliance from this train wreck of a franchise.

Wot?

They haven't been rebuilding since the first 2 years of John Fox until this year. And nobody thinks next year is some year it all will turn out.

What do you not get about rebuilding and tanking?

Your bashing of Seth Jones to be some better than his team allows or the Hawks and Bears to do that will tanking is wild.

You have these same out of the world expectations of teams By DESGIN being awful. You need to learn to adjust what an expectation can be.
I want to see coaches but teams in positions to win. Gets has not done that. His lack of halftime
Adjustments has been an issue all season

When a formal pro bowl player is openly saying that both sides of the ball have given up, you don’t think that’s an indictment on coaches?

Fans want tanks. Coaches don’t. Coaches want (and need) to win

Well now's the time for the Bears to decide how they feel about Fields, since they have one of Young or Stroud there for the taking if they want.

This isn't a dig at him at all, as I think the world of Fields. But it is a reality that QB's with his sort of playstyle tend to have shorter shelf lives than more standard pocket QB's have.

They’d be nuts to move on from Fields. He’s the best qb they’ve had since Sid Luckman. Easily the best of my lifetime. Still has development ahead of him, but it’s all there.

I think he's delusional about how many players are.

The offense that lost 2 lineman and the 1 functioning factor, Fields mobility? That had zero first downs. The defense, with intentionally terrible talent, was playing over and over. Most every announcer would typically point out they're clearly tired and worn. And that's tired worn out, not nfl talent. You're judging based on terrible talent. He'll you're bashing based on some no adjustments claims people were saying the opposite early in the year, when there was more skill on the team.

I'm not saying this is dome glorious coaching Staff, they're first year in most roles where they are. It's not all great, but there's no rational judgement that can be made separate from talent.

What an absurd statement
I only brought it up in case Poles doesn't want him, or wants his own guy. Maybe they view those guys at the top of the draft as potentially better QB's? I dont know.

Value-wise, it probably would be somewhat of a wash. If you select Stroud and trade Fields (that would be an OSU irony), you probably get similar value back for Fields that the top 2-3 pick would have bought.

I don't think it says anything other than there is a expected level of frustrating that comes from a 3-13 season. ,

Nagy went unbelievably 12-4 in his first year (which obviously was a fluke) and then got worse the following seasons. So it's hard to judge a coach by his first season. I know 3-13 (and hopefully 14 after next week) does not ever look good but when you have THE piece (aka QB) in place, you are never too far from a quick turnaround especially if Poles hits it out of the park in FA and the draft.

Can't really judge Flus for an obvious tank season.

Fields is not the best QB since Luckman....at least NOT YET. As sad as this will be to say but #6 is the best QB since Luckman.

With this offensive line and this wide receiver group, fields qb rating is 88.3 and his qbr is 55.4. Cutler had 2 years with better ratings as bear with one of those seasons only being 10 games due to injury.

Which is why I said...not yet. I do expect him to become the best QB since Luckman, but he is not there, yet.
