If I were Poles:

Free Agency:

1. Sign Javon Hargrave and DaRon Payne and keep Justin Jones and there's your 3-man DT rotation.
2. Sign the best available O-lineman available - no matter the position he plays because the Bears upgrades across the line.
3. Re-sign Montgomery.

Trades: Try to acquire an established WR1 from a team in transition - D.Adams/D.Hopkins/M.Evans

Draft: Trade down for more picks concentrating on (1) Edge Rusher, (2) O-lineman, and (3) Receiver.

Need to sign an edge rusher. For me I don’t want them going after a receiver until they get at least 2 starters on the offensive and defensive line

DaRon Payne won't hit the market. He will get franchised.

Are the Bengals going to refund money to ticket holders who paid to be at that game which got canceled due to Hamlin's heart attack ?

The game was only few minutes old and of course it is not going to be made up...How the NFL determines final standings and playoff picture is one issue...but will fans who paid to be at a game which not played out and then cancelled surley deserve their money back ORcat least a 1 game freebie for next season off their season ticket passes ...and single game payers for this game that got cancelled deserve another a single game freebie ticket for a game next season or deserve their hard earned money back ...right?

Right actually tagging him. He would have to sign it right away which most don’t do for it to count on the cap.
Not sure they will franchise him, They need to get a QB somehow and will need space for that.

Plus Allen is the one that makes that line go. I hope the Bears can get Payne, him and one of the top 2 d linemen in this draft would go a long way towards fixing the front 7

Would help a lot. They can always tag him and move him or work a long term deal. Qb wise don’t see them spending big money wise for a veteran. Think they will be one of the teams looking to move up in the draft.

Can't read that article, as it's subscriber blocked.

I've been wondering about the Bears stadium deal. They still haven't closed on the Arlington property. It's been more than 15 months since the agreement was in place to purchase. I recall they originally said it would close in 2022, or early 23.

The Bears said this could not proceed without government help in the infrastructure (sewage, etc.) being done on the property. I know there's a lot of pressure within Arlington Heights to not give them anything in the way of financial help. I wonder where that all stands now.

Even if the Arlington thing does fall apart (I hope not), the Bears really cant accept any options where they don't own their own stadium and land. Being at the mercy of the Chicago Park district just hasn't worked out and shouldn't be an option going forward.

And on another note Bears note - today is the final game. Today will determine their draft pick selection. Pick #'s 1, 2, 3 & 4 are all on the table still.

I saw rumblings that there might not be a massive demand for the #1, as there are 3 QB's that might not have enough to separate them to be worth some team going hog wild to trade up for.

IMO - it's waaaaay more important that the Bears hold on to the #2, that it is to move up to #1. But if they can get the #1, then great of course.

Say the Colts for example. They absolutely will need a QB and will pick 5th or 6th. But there are 3 QB's being talked about as a possibility for #1 - Will Levis, Bryce Young and CJ Stroud. If they view them as similar, that takes away incentive to pay a lot to move up too far.

I was just reading a SI mock that had the 3 QB's going 1-2-3 in that order.

Interestingly - they have the Bears picking 2nd, and trading down to #6 for the Colts to take Bryce Young. And the Bears only get a 23 3rd and 24 2nd for that trade. They then have the Bears taking Skloronski. While I would be ok with picking him, at that point I'd rather just stay at #2 and take Will Anderson if you only get a 2nd and 3rd for that trade.
