Lmao. That's your evidence? That, if the Bears draft top 5, they're taking the stud QB?

Christ.
Do you even watch national stuff about the
If they actually believe in Fields they'd give him one more year like the Giants did with Dan Jones when they traded down with the Bears when Fields was on the board.

IMO the roster is so shitty that they should give Fields a 3rd year and take advantage of another team that has fallen in love with Stroud/Young.

The best and most consistent OL the Bears had was the 3-4 years of

Tait - LT
Brown - LG
Kreutz - C
Garza - RG
Miller - RT

Line was good at protecting QB and run blocking

Of course, we wasted those f***ing years with Grossman and Orton at QB
Covert/Bortz/Thayer/Hilgenberg/Van Horn say hello.

I don't watch talking heads who are just out there making hot takes for ratings. I also don't listen to clowns on the radio who are more or less doing the same.

You still haven't provided a reference for everyone outside Chicago thinking he sucks.

If you don't think that radio guys or Twitter threads matter because they're too hot takey, then there is no evidence I could provide that would convince you.

Maybe go to the football board and poll HF?

There are opinions on Twitter that are fine. What you posted means nothing. It's not an analysis or evaluation on Fields at all. You haven't actually posted anything worth a shit when it comes to Fields.

Ah yes, an HF poll on football. In regards to a quarterback the overwhelming majority of people likely haven't even watched play. I would certainly see value in the opinions of a bunch of people on a hockey forum, who are generally clueless when it comes to hockey... I'm sure their football takes are top notch.

Ok, that's your opinion.
I know Orlovsky and Chris Simms think he sucks. Esiason wasn't a huge fan.

Dilfer said he was ok last week but didn't get any help.

These are all former NFL qbs.

I hope there's a ManningCast when the Bears are on MNF because I'd love to hear what Peyton and Eli think.

The bolded is about the only take anyone could logically come up with at this point.

I'm not sure why you have such a propensity towards binary conclusions, and everything having to be black and white, cut and dry. There's just no middle ground in your world. I just hope you're not still freaking out about monkey pox.

He's had 4 games behind a train wreck of an o line.

Before that, he had a season trying to make his way with an idiot for a head coach.

The guys you cite aren't going to say "the jury's still out" or "let's wait and see". They never do, it's not the way their business works.

But the fact remains, it's still too early to say he will or won't be a viable NFL starter.

Bingo. Those guys don't get paid to say that or be reasonable. They get paid for controversy. Guys on radio and TV are pretty much all paid to be hot take edge lords.

Um, I'm autistic man. It's how my brain works naturally. I have to really work to get there with regard to nuance.

If you've watch the Bears games and maybe seen some all-22 type postgame footage, then you know Fields simply hasn't been good enough. The team around him hasn't been good enough. If you want to read or listen to some out of market media talking head crappola over critique and grade him out as a D- or a C+ it's dumb and a waste of time. All you really need to know, or care about for that matter, is that the Bears need to play better if they want to win.

And I think the Manning crew will have the Bears vs NE on Monday night coming up, Oct 24. Hopefully Fields is still standing at that time and Mustipher is changing oil at Jiffy Lube.

If the Bears land a top pick and a stud quarterback is available, then Fields doesn’t stop them from selecting that quarterback. They can always trade Fields if he becomes a viable starter.

For now, Fields is their quarterback and there’s nothing else to do but hope he can develop.

A mock draft showing the Bears taking an elite QB prospect in the draft isn’t proof that Fields sucks.

All wrong. You're making stuff up. Just watched the Dilfer video yesterday regarding the Giants game, and doesn't say he was only 'OK'. In fact he starts it off with saying he played way better, was extremely decisive, movement skills were fantastic, etc. In fact the only true thing you said in your post is that Dilfer said he didn't get any help.

Ouch.

I think I'm about to do a 180.

Impossible to evaluate anyone this year.

Roster is garbage.

I always knew that deep down.

I think what’s even worse than that is we need to figure out what we do or do not have with Fields….

And we couldn’t be in a worse possible situation to figure that out with this coaching staff, offensive line, and wide receivers.

We do have some nice running backs, though.

Yeah, Fields has no chance.

I will say this: I am annoyed with Eberflus and his staff. Seems like a HS coach trying to lead grown ass men.

Not like he has much to work with though.

So far he comes across as a watered down John Fox, who was about as vanilla as vanilla gets.

This is like watching the Kyle Orton led Bears against the Kyle Orton Bears but without good defense.
