I don’t know. To me it feels like the bears lost because it feels like they are playing the QB lottery again either the next draft or the next one after that. It’s awful to feel like they will never solve the QB.

Well, first thing is they need to make sure they have a competent gm. Pace was terrible and they let the clown trade a bunch of picks on the cusp of him being fired to overdraft another qb.

Maybe they have a good GM because it’s fairly obvious the org doesn’t have faith in Fields with them investing nothing on offense.

It's too early. I don't even count the season under Matt f***ing Nagy. I'm not sure why anyone does. Let's talk in a couple months.
I generally agree. I also fully understand the concern though.

He’s the guy who is here right now, so the Bears need to do everything they can to properly evaluate whether he’s *the* guy.

I have no doubt Poles is also doing his due diligence on the QBs in next year’s draft class, as is what should always be done. So if they do determine Fields is not their guy going forward, I’m sure they’ll be prepared to acquire different options.

It’s too early to write him off 100%. It’s not too early to express major concerns. He’s been dog shit. If he’s throwing for 250 and not taking care of the ball I’m not even thinking about it.

He’s throwing for like 100 yards lol

So he's basically got one or two reads and probably not much beyond that since the line isn't consistently giving him time. Growing pains--he'll either get faster with his internal clock and finding receivers beyond the first two options or maybe not...but expecting it to happen now is silly. He's going to be rough until he gets more time doing this. I still don't understand the point of clown show clips like this other than to show off to 100 followers how they played football before too and can use the lingo.
Major growing pains and running a brand new offense with 1 legit pro receiver.
Look at Wilson’s stats so far this year. He has better receivers and an experienced line but is working through a new offense.
Different reads, different options. Different language. And Fields has 1 NFL level receiver.

Broncos with 3 runs and will give 49ers the ball back

They traded all that for Wilson and are using him like he is rookie Kyle Orton

What a pathetic final drive for 49ers

Broncos win

It's pretty obvious they are trying to ease him and get him up to speed. Hopefully they let him throw the ball more as the season progresses.

Reality is you are right. It’s a very complicated offense the same one being installed in Denver (my reference to Wilson) and does the shit show last year really count.
People here are comparing him to HOF level QB’s well A-A Ron held a clipboard for 2 full seasons.
I think the goal this year is to keep him alive while grasping the intricate new offense and seeing what they have on the O line and defense for the future.
He may not be the guy in the end but what you’re seeing now is far from the end result.

I like his attitude. He’s stepping up for the 1st pick when you can clearly see the receiver quit on the play. He slows up and not cut hard (where the ball went). Kind of the same way he told the rookie left tackle not to worry about pressures, hits and sacks but to learn from it.

He's not just learning a new offense as they're also changing and working on his mechanics and footwork. Everything is going to be mental for him when to succeed you need those habits ingrained. That's the kinda things a rookie QB should be working on while not yet playing so they have a basis to fall back on when they begin. Not trying to learn everything all at once constantly

That's the way I saw it too. The receiver, Kmet I think, was more responsible for the pick than Fields was.

All day long on sports radio today-too early to tell with Fields, he's just learning, new coach, new scheme blah, blah, blah. Then I watch Cooper Rush look more like an NFL QB than Fields ever has.

Not too early for him I guess.

Isn't Rush like.....six years older? Lol
And how many levels less talented (supposedly)?

We are comparing a D1 stud, drafted at the top of the 1st round to a guy who played nowhere and was UNDRAFTED.

Kinda helps that he has Lamb making one handed TD catches.
I'm not even watching for completions, he is throwing catchable balls to the correct player. Lamb also dropped a sure TD.
