While I have my opinions about Poles this takes the cake. SI reporter Connor Orr feels Fields should the benefit of a professional transfer portal like in NCAAF. WTF??

Ah yes, because qbs taken in the top half of the draft have historically gone to good teams.

Overdrafted QBs in a shit situation are a dime a dozen.
But Justin Fields wasn't an overdraft. He went later than expected. Zach Wilson was an overdraft.

All this consternation about Fields is making me laugh. The talent is there and while the questions are there as to the Bears being the right spot for Fields, I still believe Fields will be VERY good QB soon. I have zero doubts about this.

If the Bears pull the plug on Fields then the organization will deserve to keep having to sign the Andy Dalton's and draft the Kyle Orton's of the world. I know in this day and edge, idiots wants success immediately but sometimes patience is needed.

I hope Fields will be a top tier QB. It very well might happen. I'm not sure I would say I am confident though - just hopeful for now. He struggled bigtime past his initial reads, similar to what we saw with Trubisky. with QB's you just don't know. For some it's a rookie thing and they get much better. Some never improve in that regard.

Going to be hard to develop with no weapons

True. The 2023 FA class has some good lineman, but I don't think it is full of offensive weapons. Knowing this I wonder if they will go weapon heavy and then look to spend on the line next offseason. I am not huge into the NFL draft and college football, so I am not sure what this year and next year's strengths.

Tons of good receivers coming out this year.

Honestly, outside of Fields and Roquan, I have no idea who is on the Bears.

I’ll probably figure it out by week 6 of the season

Usually I would scoff at trading a young 25 year old linebacker in his prime when you are rebuilding (even if Poles doesn't want to call it that) but if some team offers you 2 1st round picks + additional picks? Bye Roquan and I hope you get paid too.
