I can roll with that.I’m not sold on keeping Fields as being the correct move. I’m just not convinced Williams is the guy either.

Correct! Nix, McCarthy and Daniels (to me) are (were? McC, injury) better at operating an offense. Are you the guy who was clamoring for Bo Nix?
Regardless of the Bears’ imperfections around Williams, the ball ultimately is in his hands. Turnovers, which he mostly has avoided, and bad throws are squarely on him. Pro Football Reference has charted Williams’ throws as on-target 68.9% of the time, third-worst among qualifying quarterbacks.
He’s 30th in the NFL with a 61.4 completion percentage, 23rd in yards with 1,665 and 21st in touchdown passes with nine. He has the 18th-fewest interceptions with five. Among the four rookies who have played significantly — Williams, Daniels, Maye and the Broncos’ Bo Nix — Williams leads only in touchdown passes.
Pro Football Focus ranked Williams 33rd at his position, behind the other rookies, and 42nd when under pressure.
The passing game is out of rhythm. Take third-and-10 from the Cardinals’ 11 about three minutes into the second quarter of Sunday’s blowout loss. Odunze lined up in the right slot and ran upfield to clear out an under route from Moore, who ran from right to left uncovered. Williams instead threw left into the end zone toward Allen, who ran a stop and go route. The ball fell incomplete, and the Bears settled for a field goal.
“If Caleb wanted to not throw to Keenan, I was right there for the touchdown,” Moore said.
The same players who thrived last year, with the Bears or otherwise, have struggled. Through Week 9 last year, Moore was sixth in the NFL with 735 yards and Allen was seventh with 720.
This season, Moore is 52nd with 374 yards — almost half his total from last year. Allen, who missed Weeks 2 and 3, is 126th with 197.
Maye never impressed the Bears enough to sway them from drafting Williams, however. General manager Ryan Poles was set on Williams early and didn’t host any of the other five for pre-draft visits at Halas Hall.
he'll be canned if it doesn't work out, royal f*** up to not keep an open mind when Caleb did not dominate in 2023, the tweet put out this past week about Poles, Eberflus, Waldron etc all having the same agent is hilarious...Bears QB Caleb Williams' struggles are layered, but one issue he must fix is his throwing accuracy
Williams made his name as an accurate passer at USC, but he has struggled with that in the NFL.chicago.suntimes.com

Bears QB Caleb Williams, Patriots QB Drake Maye meet in battle of Nos. 1 and 3 draft picks
While they’re unlikely to see each other often, Williams and Maye always will be linked as part of the epic 2024 quarterback class that saw an unprecedented six of them go in the top 12 picks.chicago.suntimes.com
I think Bates has been activated. So he's a possibility; assuming starting line is Borom-Jenkins-Shelton-Pryor-Curhan. Whomever it is, Caleb better be ready to get rid of the ball quick. Maybe Kmet gets more than one target.Nate Davis added to the injury report, confirmed OUT with a back injury.
That means that instead of having Davis enter the game if an O-lineman goes out, Doug Kramer is probably the next man up for IOL. Curhan for OT.
Not great.
I think we're looking at Pryor-Jenkins-Shelton-Bates-Borom. We'll see. But yes, quick passes is probably the name of the game today. And the rest of the season.I think Bates has been activated. So he's a possibility; assuming starting line is Borom-Jenkins-Shelton-Pryor-Curhan. Whomever it is, Caleb better be ready to get rid of the ball quick. Maybe Kmet gets more than one target.
They are about to start playing semi-competent D-lines after a good stretch of bad D-lines that they haven't been able to stop, so...Can the Bears keep Caleb alive? That is my only expectation of this game.
How has their gm who has not acquired anything better still at his job? The coach made a mid 1 year Illinois starter look just equal to Jones last year. And that kid couldn't even make an nfl roster this yearDaniel Jones is the kind of QB that gets coaches fired. Has had two bad INTs inside the redzone and missed wide open receivers several times.
